After calling DOS Thursday night and being told "The Embassy hasn't printed the visa yet. It takes more than a day," I really want to call back. We didn't get a call Friday from the Embassy. Haydar doesn't think I should call anymore. If we don't hear from the Embassy/DOS Monday, I will call Tuesday. Is calling too much bad?

11/27/07: NOA1

5/02/08: NOA2 (157 days from NOA1)

6/16/08: K1 Interview- ADMINISTRATIVE PROCESSING CO quoted us 2-4 weeks (45 days from NOA2 - 202 days from NOA1)

4/06/09: VISA IN HAND

6/20/09: POE LAX

7/4/09: Making it Legal - Wedding

10/17/09: The big wedding ceremony

AOS:

7/22/09: AOS Paperwork filed

10/27/09: Interview - APPROVED

10/31/09: Welcome Letter Received

Removing Conditions:

7/29/11: I-751 paperwork filed

2/14/12: Card Production Ordered!

2/18/12: Green Card Received

Citizenship:

12/26/12: Paperwork filed

12/31/12: NOA Date

1/14/13: Biometrics Appt

2/26/13: Interview

3/27/13: Oath Ceremony!!

6/30/13: Baby Due Date :)

Let the process carry out normally.

If it's more than 2 weeks, call.

My Advice is usually based on "Worst Case Scenario" and what is written in the rules/laws/instructions. That is the way I roll... -Protect your Status - file before your I-94 expires.

Cassandra, right now I believe you should stop being paranoid about this - that was me too, being afraid anything little thing will somehow delay the visa but its a mental thing being you have been waiting for so long for this and don't want it to go wrong. Call when you feel to, because it will help you ease your mind. No one has the authority to delay your visa due to bugging the h@ll out of DOS.

Your visa will get here soon, not to worry. I am praying for you. God-willing, it will be here soon and you and your love can find peace together.

At this point DOS may not have the most up to date info (since CO seems to almost ready to print visa) - so don't be discouraged that your phone calls do not get you more info.

Use your energy to clean the house or go get a massage!!!

I say call everyday if it makes you feel better. An hour after my husband's second interview I called DOS and they knew about it and informed me right then and there his visa was stamped. The CO who gave the interview never told my husband, he just said he was approved and the visa should arrive in the next week or two. We didn't believe it and thought it would arrive in a few months as we were used to playing the waiting game. So DOS knows a lot more than we thing they do. Had it not been for my phone call to DOS an hour after the interview, we would been waiting and wondering.

Don't just open your mouth and prove yourself a fool....put it in writing.

It gets harder the more you know. Because the more you find out, the uglier everything seems.

We have been calling once a day and whilst DOS have not said anything to me they have said something to John about how often we call. They do record every call on your case log.

Not that we will be changing our habits any time soon.

I would bug the consulate, si man. The squeaky wheel gets the visa... er, grease.

06-04-2007 = TSC stamps postal return-receipt for I-129f.

06-11-2007 = NOA1 date (unknown to me).

07-20-2007 = Phoned Immigration Officer; got WAC#; where's NOA1?

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).
