I don't know... 4-5 months sounds about right. When you think about it, once VSC is done fumbling with the file, everything moves a lot quicker at NVC and the Embassy itself, so a 6-7 month timeline overall would still be possible. As a worst case scenario, it isn't horribly bad.

They are handling files from December, but also files from March. I'm keeping my hopes up by watching that.

After reading a lot on the USCIS web site I see that they have publicly stated multiple times that their goal is to reach a five month processing time for each case by the end of this September (the government's fiscal year). My hunch is that anyone who answers the phone over there would stick to the press release. So if we are talking averages - I think that this means we will see some April filers starting to get approved in another 4-6 weeks and then the rest will straggle in. Does anyone know how some people are able to get their cases expedited? Is is a question of money or money +?

Wow.....I really hope what you say is true because our timeline is almost scratching October from being all in August. Not encouraging by any means.

As for your question. Almost all of the cases that I see were expedited here is because the USC is in the army and is to be deployed but that in itself is another process not guaranteed to get an expedite. Another possibility is because of USCIS loosing your file and they admitting so. There are other cases though.

Think they can crawl further back and find the one we originally filed in August.... Spoke to Chris last night, our Lawyer has got us a court date for Wednesday, woot! Hopefully I will have good news at that point.

OMG - your situation is awful and I hope it gets sorted out. I have OCD from checking my status on Igor's list and was feeling sorry for myself because our estimated time of adjudication has slipped from mid August to beyond. Our wedding is planned for November and I am most likely going to have to move everything - so was pouting and pouting. Then I found these forums and started reading. After reading your posts, I feel stupid and self-centered. My fingers are crossed for you.

Haha Michele, don't feel bad because you are frustrated with the process, its not your fault I am here. But thank you kindly for your well wishes :)

Today has been a bad day though, I once again had to pack my wedding gown into storage (which I brought last October) and in a few weeks our original wedding ceremony date (August 21) will be rolling past, Though Ill be honest, the one that is horrifying me at the moment is the 12 months since filing mark, I really hope that I don't I don't have to see that one through without our NOA2, i think i might break down and cry if that happens....

Have you heard anything new from your lawyer? I also hope you don't reach that one year mark - my thoughts are with you.

I haven't sadly, but then I haven't been able to talk to Chris, he has been swamped with work (and fell asleep on the couch yesterday lol) however our court date is tomorrow and hopefully Chris will have some news for me that I can share with you all when I get up in the morning.... crossing fingers down under I can assure you!

That actually depends on the country.. some countries will get an interview date straight away and others it can be months out... Our interview will be approx 3 months from when NVC gets it at a minimum.... My timeline estimate is almost 6 months to NOA2 now.. that means closer to 9 months all together... baring any RFE's or hangups.... and then there is the possibility that they could lose the file like they did Mara's...

We all know what can happen to our food at a restaurant if we are rude to the wait staff... yucko!.. just think what could happen if we call and get loud with someone at USCIS.... not saying anyone has, but keep that in mind if anyone is thinking of calling....

Good Morning all!

Just got off the phone too Chris, our lawyer had called and left us a Voicemail with the following information:

USCIS requested a continuance of two days till Friday, this is good on the fact that they were allowed up to 4 days but choose to take only 2. He then went and approached their bench after the session and asked them straight up "Do you intend to fight this" apparently they responded to have little to no intention of fighting it.

So he thinks that this will be done simply and quickly (i really hoped his is right) he also hinted at the fact that he has a feeling there is a chance that they will front court with our NOA2 in hand on Friday. But we will have to wait and see. I will keep you all posted.

Hope everyone in here is still staying strong, Im a bit weak today, simply because Chris is going to see Harry Potter before me!!!!! lol
