Ok, here is my dilemma...

I don't have a lot of clothes here, they are in the States. ANYWAY....

I was going to wear black dress pants, and new I had a black spring jacket here, well I have 2. BUT, upon coming home and checking them out, one of them is a totally DIFFERENT black than my pants (and I hate that), and one is an uncomfortable rain 3/4 kind of jacket.

SO....

Is it OK if I wear a nice pair of DARK denim jeans, with heels and a nice button down jacket, kind of like a blazer.

Will I be frowned upon wearing DARK denims??? I will still look dressy. I just don't wanna wear those black pants and 1 of those jackets!!!

I know, not a big deal.....but..............still would like some advice ;)

Anyone recently gone for an interview wanna share what they wore??

Thanks!

They don't care - although you should probably stick with shoes and a shirt :)

Don't stress - your outfit will affect nothing. I saw people in tracksuits, dressed up, dressed down.

Here's the thing - I DON'T EVEN REMEMBER WHAT I WORE! LOL

You might want to consider adding some pants or a skirt to that ensemble, though. Just saying.

Serious answer: you should be fine with what you are planning to wear. Good luck on your interview.

Just what I was thinking! I want Uggs but SOMEONE thinks they are too expensive  I think he's sick of funding my Puma addiction...

But I never even thought of what I was going to wear, thanks for bringing it up! I'm guessing you should just look presentable (aka not a sketchy slob) and that will go a long way.

Hi Carrieandadrian11,

Likewise, I encountered a similar problem too for my AOS interview (during the fall/winter) a few years ago here in the USA (Buffalo, NY). I only brought about 2 weeks worth or so of clothes (spring/summer clothes) when I came here for a visit and then got married (see my VJ timeline for more info). And of course, I didn't have enough clothes then, as I had left almost all of it back in Canada and couldn't pick up most my belongings while my case was pending....

So I wore what I had that looked decent enough to my interview: A white sweater (lol..which was the same sweater I got married in..no time for a formal wedding dress either when we spontaneously got married), a short sleeved pink shirt underneath (which I had bought while I was here), dark/navy blue jeans (thank goodness I had packed those), dark socks (ummm...I had to borrow my husband's larger sized socks), black dress shoes (thank goodness I packed those shoes too as I couldn't find a decent pair of shoes in my small size here), and the heart-shaped necklace I got on my wedding day (which I still wear now). My husband wore a dress shirt, brown dress pants, dark socks, and black dress shoes.

And yes, I/we was/were approved during the interview wearing those clothes......

It helped more though, that paperwork-wise we were adequately prepared (lol..umm..maybe a little too prepared, as we bought 2-3 bags of stuff with us) and the lawyer was there with us for the interview, rather than them focusing on what we both wore...

Hmmmm....Now I wonder: What should I wear for my N-400 interview when the time comes later this year/next year for me? Lol...I doubt that I fit in those 'skinny pants' after pregnancy....Any ideas for a 'post-pregnancy wardrobe' anyone?

As for your situation, I think that your outfit of choice you described is good to wear. So go ahead, wear those dark demin jeans! As long as you (and anyone else) 'don't look like a bum off the street', then you'll be fine there.

Hope this helps. Good luck with the rest of your immigration journey too.
