I realize now I should have edited my above post to sound a little more cheerful  I am, of course, sooooo excited for her. She's a beautiful girl and deserves all the best things in life, and she's marrying a long-time friend. I can't wait to have family gatherings with them some time soon. :)

Understood and your post was understandable. With every moon, I swoon. Hard to ignore the feeling.

Yeah. It's supposed to be pretty difficult. There are very few reviews for the embassy-well, at least not many recent ones, but the word in the sub-saharan forum is that if the SO isn't there for the interview, they almost always demand a second or third interview. I'm planning on being there, though, so I'm not too worried. Maybe I should be, but I guess I don't seen any reason that they would deny us. I'm more nervous about the CSC portion of it-all the waiting and not really having any control over what is going on. I'm terrified of the 6+ months club. At least with the interview, we'll be together and we can deal with what ever happens while I'm there.

I am feeling really down the past two days, and I have to vent....this process is cruel! It is bad enough to be away from the one you love...but then I have to suffer more by watching happy couples walking around my apartment complex each evening, holding hands ets.....and I feel so alone. It feels like my life and my love is "on hold". I tend to be a worrier by nature and the time spent waiting just allows my mind to wander onto what all can go wrong. And then to read about some peoples dreams shattered here on VJ by being denied...it scares me to death. How are all of you dealing with this?

I can't imagine being denied without some sort of very legitimate reason. My understanding is that it takes a lot.. .some prior conviction, no evidence of some sort.

I think just focusing on the fact that it's mostly over can help most days. I try to block some things out (like the things you mentioned), which also helps. Then of course, there are the breakdown days, which everyone seems to go through.

You'll look back on all of this months down the road and you won't be able to believe all the stress is over with, I bet ya. Our day is coming!

DEALING WITH WHAT? WHAT SEEMS TO BE THE PROBLEM HERE? WAITING IS A GAME, NOT A PROBLEM. NO ONE SHOULD HAVE A PROBLEM WITH WAITING. SO WE HAVE TO WAIT 10-20-50-100-200-300-400 DAYS. BIG WHOOP! WHINERS I SAY, WHINERS!!! :innocent:;)

Ok i'm a whiner. I can understand totally as we all can relate to the feeling of wanting our fiance's around to be a normal couple and such. The waiting is difficult however, cause you really are not sure on the whole process. If we knew when we'd be together, we can make a goal but we cant even make plans cause we just dont know, we speculate, thats it. And that bugs the ####### out of me! Oh well...at least the uscis website is updated and so maybe they're working on our cases now...who knows...

usagroom, (F) another flower for you!

starlight-I have looked at Rebtel. Their rates for Senegal are $.24 a minute while the phone card I'm using now is about $.18 a minute. Although this morning it stole 8 minutes from me!

Good morning, All! :D

I have used nobelcom.com, but just found it more convenient to call the local number. As I can get through without dialing all those numbers :). Sorry, it did not work out for you. I am a May 09 filer, but I want you guys to hang in there you guys are almost there. It is difficult to be away from your loved ones, and the sad part is you can not really plan your wedding plans until the approval, and in some cases not until after the interview. I am sure you April 09 filers will get your approvals very soon.:thumbs:
