So much to do, so little time...

Playing the waiting game and designing wedding invites... first draft

01-10-10 sounds cool to me (Sunday too) but I know in China that 01-11-10 is much cooler (due to their love of odd numbers).

Any April 2009 CSC K-1 filers thinking/planning for children with your fiance(e)? We are definetly thinking/planning.

My fiance wants kids right away, but I would really like to wait until he's at least working. Realistically, it'll probably be a couple years. I'm excited, though!

Random, but I just ran into an old acquaintance, and we got to talking about our respective relationships, and she said, "I know exactly how you feel. Long distance sucks. My bf lives 4 hours away!" I almost slapped her.

Don't forget that love and family are more important than money. There is no shortage of help for children (ask gramma/grandpa etc.). :D

The question of children has brought about interesting discussions of cultural differences-not so much between my fiance and me, but between our families. His expects children soon, while my family thinks we should wait. I know that it's between him and me, but it's interesting to see how in American culture we tend to divide our lives into stages (college, then marriage, then career, then children, etc) while at least in Senegal (and probably many other cultures), they usually don't see the need to have divisions like that. Just interesting.

lol I'm hoping for 1/10/2010 as our wedding date as well... with our reception to follow back in Canada exactly 6 months later (7/10/2010). our back up date if we're not approved in time is 2/20/2010. lol Yes, I have issues with numbers too, though they don't have to be 'odd', just neat looking patterns in my head.....

Anyhoo... I'm not sure if we're having children... My fiance wants them, but I have really not decided, and he's ok with that. We're still young... well, kinda... me 28, he 33, so I want a few years together just the two of us, to accomplish things as a couple (i.e. traveling around, enjoying being 'together' finally, just living our lives and building our relationship) before children come in and take over our lives ... lol So if we do have them, it won't be for a few years.

And yes, attaya, I also want to punch/slap people who talk about long distance when they're a few hours from each other. My dentist's assistant tried to 'relate' to me about that... when she was a 2 hour drive from her b/f... UGH.

Haven't been around in awhile hope the gang is all doing all right.

Kids eh? Nan and I both think we are at least a decade too young for those. Maybe a nice dog or something? ha ha. Well I was away on business again, and I decided not to check emails or do anything on the computer that I did not have to, and when I came back I found this in my inbox...

"Good Day,

Your inquiry has been received at the National Visa Center (NVC). The NVC has completed its processing of the visa petition you mentioned in your letter and has forwarded the petition to the assigned US Embassy/Consulate General for further processing.

Any further inquiries should be directed to the assigned US Embassy or Consulate General.

Neat. Now maybe I can work the extension issue. One month in AP... At least I am in no hurry now.

Well for me and Nigel, we cant have any kids for some reason...its funny cause i thought i'd never find anyone like me or would be ok with me cause I cant have anymore kids ( i have a 15 yr old). We basically want to work and travel and fix up this house of mine and so forth and actually have money in the bank for when his family comes here or us to go there!! I told everyone and Nigel included that he is like I wrote EVERYTHING down on paper what I wanted in a husband and ripped it up and threw it in the wind and there he came to me!! He is so strangely like what I always wanted I truly shake my head every day thinking this is just a dream and I'm gonna wake up soon!! Even his family is perfect for me!! He says that he's not perfect but I say he's PERFECT FOR ME!!! and i actually found a valentines card that said that, i was so surprised! So on his wedding band i'm gonna have engraved "perfect for me" on the inside...ok enough soppy-ness here! LOL. Nigel's on holidays for a week so i am gonna be a bored crabby miserable person cause i cant see or talk to him for a week...grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr...........so lets just say you guys may be listening to me b*&tch for a week! LOL.

Any April 2009 CSC K-1 filers thinking/planning for children with your fiance(e)? We are definetly thinking/planning.

Leidys and I are thinking, but not yet planning. She wants to see the United States, have a chance to go camping out in the wilderness, and enjoy spending time with her new husband. 2 or 3 years sounds about the time we agreed on.

I plan on introducing Leidys to my friends The Baja Crawlers 4WD Club of Tijuana, Mexico and taking her camping in Joshua Tree National Park. Both the International Border and Joshua Tree are exactly 2 hrs. away from where I live.

Here's the Baja Crawlers goofing around in Tecate, Mexico - 12 mi. south of the border.
