Nill, thanks for the phone card suggestion. I'll have to check that out. Right now I'm using Nobelcom.com and occasionally I'll use Skype to call his cell (just to record the calls, really). Ashenflowers, I honestly didn't mean to be critical in any way. You're right--this process this soooo difficult for every single one of us going through this process and I merely wanted to throw out there that we all need to be accepting of one another's ways of dealing with this---whether it be checking your status every fifteen minutes from the moment you receive the NOA1 or whether you choose to check it only once a week or what have you. I'm sorry if my message came out any other way.

So, anyway, we're all approaching (or have reached) the two month mark!!!!!

what calling plan do you use? i'm sure it's skype, but my fiance doesn't have access to computers right now (he's in the village visiting family), so i'm hoping you have some fabulous calling card i haven't yet heard of :)
I use calling cards (about $.02 a minute) when I am away from the Internet, but I have the Skype yearly plan ($99 unlimited) to call my fiancee's cell phone in China. Computer to computer is always free. After using all the other online systems, Yahoo/MSN/QQ/etc., Skype is the very best and getting better.

Ashenflowers, I honestly didn't mean to be critical in any way. Me too. Just wanted to add a different point of view.

Playing the waiting game while I help my fiancee tie up loose ends before she and daughter come (oh yeah, working on mine too).

Just sent our K1 packet off via UPS 2-day letter. So exciting!!

Just want to say hello to this thread. April 09 K1 filer (mailed on the 10th).

As for the recent discussion about calling... we video call on MSN messenger most everyday cause we both have PC's... lots of txt messages direct phone to phone (I think it costs me about .25 for international) and when I call I use ID phone card (idphonecard.com) ... which I just picked at random a long time ago, .035/min to Thailand.

Based on timeline data, your I129f may be adjudicated between August 7, 2009 and August 22, 2009.

NOA2: July 23, 2009.

Intervew: Sep. 28, 2009 APPROVED

I arrive BKK Oct 29.

Marriage ceremony (non-legal) 6 a.m. Nov 2, 2552 Hua Hin, Thailand.

Arrive PDX Nov 7.

U.S. Marriage: 20-Dec-2009 Salem, OR

AOS filed 06-FEB-2010 (last possible day for valid postmark)

AOS Interview - APPROVED - 06-MAY-2010

I was merely answering the question, as it was asked... i.e. how do I get my mind off it. Anyways... truce amongst all. lol

I just realized it is exactly 400 days until our planned 'family/friends' wedding ceremony in Canada (not the legal US one)... knowing that I FOR SURE have GOT to have my visa by THEN is encouraging...

oh my goodness! wedding planning is a good diversion! unless you're like me, and had everything planned about two months ago and are now twiddling your thumbs... no, really, all i have is the dress, but that's the best part! :D it's fun to think about, though, just to keep your mind off things and to know that, like you said ashenflowers, we will be able to have our weddings for sure, inshallah and crossing fingers, by this following spring.

hope you all have wonderful weekends!

Allie... I haven't bought any wedding stuff yet... This will sound backwards, but we actually just got 'officially' engaged about 2 weeks ago. I know that's entirely backwards... hahaha but yeah. We didn't want to announce an engagement unless the 2 of us could be together to do it, and I didn't want to start wedding planning without it being official, so we waited until he was here visiting. It's funny, cause even though we knew we were getting married, and had already started the K1 process, having him ask me, and announcing it, and wearing his ring on my finger has made it feel COMPLETELY different. NOW I AM engaged!!! So now I started crazy wedding planning.. though we're trying to keep ours low key (LOL, let's see if that actually happens).

Anyways... LOL we can race, but I have a feeling whoever comes in 2nd is going to cry... lol! Yours might be faster via that embassy? Who knows. Funny we're exactly a day apart in our NOA1 though!

attaya... is it a good diversion. We spent last night on the phone/msn messenger collaborating on the creation of our wedding website... hehe

Ugh- so, Senegal is really a safe, stable country, but the southern part (where my fiance is from) has had quite a bit of violence in the past. Up until recently, though, it had returned to being calm and peaceful. This last week, though, there have been 3 armed attacks by rebels on villages near where my fiance is staying--all w/in 25 miles. He's been down there visiting family (his sister is about to have a baby), but all I want is for him to go back to Dakar where I don't have to worry about him so much....I'm know I'm probably being paranoid.

Well, if they're approving February now, then it hopefully should be August timeframe. I'm hoping anyway. Am I reading that wrong?

On another topic, anyone having trouble explaining to family the "uncertaintly of the wedding date", "not planning anything big" or "getting married asap" after your SO arrives? My family lives all over the US. Naturally they want notice, but we also want to file AOS as soon as possible.

Yeah we are hoping for August to be NOA2 time.

Since this both our second marriage and we are older (in our 40s) It is understood that we are going to get married at city hall then have a party with the family at a date everyone can make it. They all know that the visa wait in not predictable.

Playing the waiting game...

Well looking the current numbers .... they are working cases with NOA dates around the end of Feb. ( Feb. 23ish to be exact ) .. of course always previous cases that are straggling behind ... but that is about where they are currently at ... there seemed to be quite a few March applicants which could take a little longer to process ... but there seem to be a pretty small amount of April filers. I think we will start seeing April approvals already towards the end of July finishing up with most by the end of August ... the work visas should for the most part be completed now as they take around 2 months to complete and the quota fills up fast. So they should be back to normal soon. OF course this is all a guess on my part and pure speculation and a little bit of dreaming maybe hehe.

Like most here we to will be doing a Civil wedding whenever we can ... its hard to plan anything big not knowing when you will finally be able to have your wedding. So our current plan is to marry civil ASAP ... have a small reception here with the US family .... than return to the Philippines sometime next year and have a Catholic wedding and celebration there as well with the family in the Philippines ... still undecided if we will do the legal documents in the Philippines as well ...
