Why wait for packet 3?

Yeah, I told my fiance to call Embassy in Argentina...yeah, baddddd choice. They were neither nice nor helpful. First of all, they CHARGED him(yes you read correctly) just to say "Please wait until NOA2". Talk about treating us like children!!

They actually charged for information? I am sure this is illegal. How did they collect over the phone anyway?

Anyway, did he talk to an actual Consular Officer or some flunky who answered the phone?

You should still be able to learn the contents of the packet 3 from someone else who recently processed there. Don't give up!

I don't know if it's illegal or not, but before the answering service lets you talk to a human, it asks you to enter some kind of pin(I guess similiar to a case number) , and if you don't have a pin, it tells you how to get it/buy it. It's like you're purchasing calling rights. I don't really know. It's not expensive or anything, probably a few cents. But still, that aint right. He e-mailed them too, and was told the same thing.

Believe it or not, there are USCIS people on this forum and others who may not appreciate certain comments. I won't take any chances of compromising my K-1 process.

Hmm, that sounds a little paranoid. I highly doubt USCIS people have time to be browsing through forums. If they ARE reading this, then good, they can see how much we are suffering, especially those who have been waiting for 6+ months just for a NOA2.

Not really, you must understand the U.S. Government mentality. They would most certainly browse this site, as it might offer insight to the overall perspective on their job performance. From the customer's viewpoint, that is.

I have worked for the U.S. Government, so I feel well qualified to make the above statement. I have made several inflammatory remarks about the USCIS. Therefore, I would not want those comments matched with my K-1 petition.

Would you?

I DO work for the goverment, and our motto is "hurry up and wait". I don't think anything I've said in this forum will hurt the process of my petition, if anything, it will actually help...maybe.

But where in the Government do you work? USPS? Just kidding! If you are not in the immigration loop, you would not know of what I said. I was in that loop, in Embassies, no less. I have unique Consular inside info. I left just a short time ago. Consider that in your opinion.

Wait a minute.... What are these forms? DS-2053, DS-3024, Ds-3026???? My Fiance just got her packet 3 and there was no mention of these three forms. She is going through the New Delhi consulate.

Vishrit, the Panel Physcian will already have those forms at and for the medical, your fiance(e) will not need to provide them.

No thoughts on that? Why not? I am not paranoid, but some caution should be observed. No?

You are entitled to disclose as much or as little information you choose to on here, but to say your embassy does things a certain way, and what seems to be a much easier and quicker way than others, and yet not disclose which embassy isn't exactly helpful now is it? It's almost like you're are purposely trying to taunt and tease the masses. ;)

I am not a practicing attorney. I have a law degree and I passed the bar exam, but am not admitted to practice because I got a job in legal publishing and haven't gotten around to applying for my license yet. Publishing is great, but it does not make you qualified to give legal advice. So I don't. I just want to get married to my fella, which is why I'm here! If you need legal help, seek the advice of a licensed attorney.

Further, I don't claim to know it all. Yet , one thing is clear, I know more than you on the K-1 topic.
