While messing around on the Internet, I found this online. While I thought that was neat, I wondered what a Canadian Chess set (without being entirely about the RCMP) would look like.

Here's my idea:

Beaver (Pawn)

RCMP (Knight)

Polar Bear (Rook)

Maple Leaf (Bishop)

Queen Elizabeth II (King)

Prime Minister (Queen)

I chose Queen Elizabeth as the "King" since she's probably pretty important to Canada overall, but she holds very little usable power. Therefore the position of "King" makes sense.

Two positions I'm a little uncertain of belong to the Maple Leaf as the "Bishop" and the Prime Minister as the "Queen." My reasons for the PM as "Queen" is because he or she is the most powerful elected official in Canada, so I figure that works. I was considering the Governor-General, but from what I've seen, the GG doesn't do a whole lot in most cases. As for the Maple Leaf... well, I couldn't think of anything that'd work as a "Bishop." :P

Any suggestions?

Didn't we all have an argument about this just a few weeks ago and tried to tell you that she doesn't have "usable power"

Oh deadpool...round 2.

"...My hair's mostly wind,

My eyes filled with grit

My skin's white then brown

My lips chapped and split

I've lain on the prairie and heard grasses sigh

I've stared at the vast open bowl of the sky

I've seen all the castles and faces in clouds

My home is the prairie and for that I am proud…

If You're not from the Prairie, you can't know my soul

You don't know our blizzards; you've not fought our cold

You can't know my mind, nor ever my heart

Unless deep within you there's somehow a part…

A part of these things that I've said that I know,

The wind, sky and earth, the storms and the snow.

Best say that you have - and then we'll be one,

For we will have shared that same blazing sun." - David Bouchard

I don't know if Stephen wants to be called a Queen though. And you are wrong about the GG - from what I have seen she shakes hands and wears a hat - wonder what she gets paid for that.

Right. Well, I'm still not sure I agree on that point; however, I did say she "holds very little usable power." In other words, she still has usable power, but not a whole lot at all. ;)

Why the change of screen name?

I didn't even know you could change your name voluntarily. Interesting.

1. Click on MY CONTROLS

2. Under the PERSONAL PROFILE heading click on CHANGE DISPLAY NAME

3. Choose a name carefully since you have a finite number of changes per year.

One question: what's a "whiskey-hack"?

Whiskey-jack is a beautiful bird. Up at my families camp ground they'll fly down and eat right out of your hands. They're so friendly.

Donne moi une poptart!

I think we're forgetting about the all-important moose. :bonk:

I think he'd make a wonderful rook since he has those big antlers which can mimic a turret.
