Hi,

My fiancee started collecting her papers for her embassy interview. I'm wondering how long it will take to get the following docs:

- Passport: my fiancee says that it will take about a month. This seems awfully long to me...

- NBI clearance: my fiancee says it only takes a day, but my tita says it can take weeks. Which is it?

Thanks for the input.

passport takes 3 days only, it takes more than a month or more if there some problems on names/surnames to be corrected... and NBI hours only...GOOD LUCK (F)

Hi! Just got my NBI Clearance last March 16, 2009. It just took me about 1 hour to get my NBI Clearance at the Carriedo office since there is no "Hit" on my name (Hit = meaning i have a unique name and that there is no criminal records found)

For my passport, it took me 7 days (I had it expedited) for Php750.

PASSPORT = 2 weeks. IF you want it quicker, pay more and have it expedited.

NBI = 1 hour if no hit. Might take longer time if your wife has common name with another person with criminal record.

Good luck!

Passport - 7 working days, expidite

NBI Clearance - in Carriedo Manila, for those without namesake, clearance certificates are released within (30) minutes. For those with namesake, their applications will be subjected to further verification, hence you have to wait for forty-eight (48) hours before clearances are released. For those who are required to go to the Quality Control Section for interview, clearances will be released one (1) hour after the interview.
