just off the phone with VSC - i had only a 5 minute wait!

according to the person i spoke with, on 6/23 the RFE was ordered and i should receive it within 2-3 weeks FROM TODAY, "best case scenario" he said! depends on when clerical gets it out.

he said recalls are being handled as they come back from NVC and once received they go to an adjudicator (more of the standard reply). they are not going by receipt date at all (duh, i could have told him that) only by when received back. they are NOT being done in batches.

i asked about noa1's getting rfe's and closer to approval and some even approved. no real answer. i asked if recalled have priority. no real answer. i said "no rhyme or reason?". he agreed but said they are trying to get all recalled done as quickly as possible.

so no real info here - just that they put in an order for the rfe and then it goes to clerical.

my bet is this partly depends on who is on vacation or not - cases sitting on desks waiting for mr/ms holiday to return! whoever got the 6/22 reopened cases is sitting on the beach sipping a margarita right now! while i'm in a corner sucking my thumb!

calling congresswoman next.......

but here's a joke to cheer us up......maybe?

what do you call a short legged dog with steel balls?

sparky!

nice job with the chart... two thoughts:

- Is this only K1s or includes K3s? Would a column be worthwhile to add.

- No way of knowing the IMBRA answer given, YES or NO.. why not track that as well...

In the long run, it might be good to see any trends that occur based on visa type or answers.. Just some thoughts.. again, nice job.

Well, considering K3ers have a thread of their own going on, I guess we're all K1ers here.

As for keeping track of the answers given, I guess we only have 3 people with RFE's sent back. But yeah, it's a good idea and I'm hoping soon another column would be needed for that and yet other for updates on the RFE's themselves. However, since most of us haven even gotten RFE's yet, I guess we're getting ahead of ourselves here.

I only offer advice - not even legal. Just the plain and simple kind.

this list is for recalled approved K1's only. i think it's a great idea to compare to K1 NOA1's and K3's with rfe's and approvals. anyone up for the task? anyone know of a thread with this other info? please post url!

Hey, americanwoman.

Thanks for the msg.

I think you got one of the "bad officers" on the phone..

No way he can tell if it will take from 2 to 3 weeks..

I think that was just an answer so he would get off the phone.

What do you think? If there was no one else getting RFEs, but Mike, from 06/23 got his last night.

I just don´t understand why is it taking so long, if they have already started the sending RFEs process.

As for the NOA1 K1 people, I think none of them are waiting for it anymore. I started a thread about that a few days ago.

As for us, let´s see when we´ll get ours. Truth is, if they sent all RFEs for the NOA1 people, they sure are moving slow with the 1100 recalled ones. Especially since they´say they don´t have all of it there yet!

Anyways, good thing you called them!

VSC is usually only a 5 minutes wait on the phone. Sometimes not even that.

I think it´s the first option. We only had two RFEs being sent to people and about 10 of us waiting...

Actually, we've got 16 people in the chart. And 3 RFEs in the mail so far.

Quick question:

for those waiting on an update as I am..

I tried everything.

I have spent 3 days in a row in front of the computer signing into my account every 2 minutes;

I have checked every 2 hours for 2 days in a row;

I tried drinking and passing out for 12 hours so I´d wake up and check;

I have been out all day and coming back at night to check.

Even though it sucks, I feel more comfortable when in front of the computer.

When I´m away I get somehow more anxious.

When my case was approved back in April and when it was reopened 2 weeks ago I was checking it like crazy and suddenly it changed.

the K3 RFE thread is this: http://www.visajourney.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=20184

Unfortunately, they haven't compiled information, so information is all over the thread.

damn! i've had to wait around a half an hour before - every time i called!

i think there is some truth to what he said but always taken with a grain of salt as it's the uscis dis-information line. and he wasn't trying to get off the phone - never sounded rushed, never cut me off, never implied he wanted off. he actually kept me on a little longer, talking even after i started my thank you's.

the automated system states my case was reopened on 6/22 and i should receive the decision in 30 to 45 days. so the guy telling me 2 to 3 weeks from today fits into that time frame. as for the batches all the info we have points to them not using this method.

as for vsc receiving cases from nvc - it does sound logical to reopen as they come back. BUT my case was sent back on 6/5 sooooo......

and i do believe the vacation theory. all info points to "they don't care" so if one is going on vacation, why would they have another take over the cases from him/her while away? i bet my case is right under yours on one of these desks! (i forgot to ask about this but they would never admit that if it is true.)

unfortuneately they have not put a priority on the recalls but in hindsight, why would they stop processing all other cases in order to do so? i think my hopes for first in, first out were to high (but i'm still pissed).

and all of the above is why i am contacting congresswoman again.

I too have been checking it constantly, maybe 6 times a day. I'm the most annoying person right now. Totally obsessed about the visa process. My fiance even told me to calm down and let it go. And I guess he's right. I can't let this one thing consume my life and every thought I have. Tough thing to do, though.

oh, you forgot to actually ask a question.

I am going through the same. It's driving me nuts. Even my friends are saying I've become this neurotic, depressed person, that only sees the negative side of things.

also - this call to vsc was to get current (mis)information so when i call congresswoman i have ammo for her to get on it. also why i wanted a tally of who's got what when to demonstrate the unfairness occuring.

So the 30-45 days could actually mean something?

Do they have to mail us a decision withing 45 days?
