I know that if you haven't been married for more than two years you get a conditional residence and then after two years you have to remove conditions but when do the two years start counting? Is it from the day you get approved (which would be at the interview), or is it from the port of entry?

at the port of entry when you get the stamp on your passport.

You start counting the date of entry into the US. 90 Days before your 2 yrs is up is when you want to apply for AOS.
