My fiancé just filed his 2008 taxes. He emailed me his return. I will print it off, does it need to be notarized? Also, do u only need 2008, or previous years?

Thanks :)

No, tax returns do not need to be notarized. I believe the most recent tax year is sufficient but to be sure, you should double check the instructions. And there's no harm in bringing previous years to be safe. I brought 3 years worth.

I didn't even provide a tax return, just his 2008 W2 as well as a summary of his bank deposits and a letter from his employer.

I wasn't even asked for this stuff either... I was asked for the I134 (think that's the right number) and I included those other items with it because I thought they were important to back up what the form said.

The only thing that was notarized was the affidavit of support, not any of the accompanying documents though.

No need to be notarized. Heck they don't even need to be signed!

Better to use IRS tax transcripts as they are more valid. Free 24/7 800-829 1040. Only take about 6 days by snail mail. Can have them faxed in one day.

K1 denied, K3/K4, CR-1/CR-2, AOS, ROC, Adoption, US citizenship and dual citizenship

!! ALL PAU!

Does the affidavit of support need to be notarized? My fiancé just signed it?

I assume on line tax returns should be ok? I mean everyone files on line these days? And originally they accepted a copy and nothing official? My fidnce just filed and all his docs are electronic.

Do I really have to get him to obtain originals from IRS?

I hope not....more work again! LOL!

Someone else posted the question about the I-134 a couple of days ago here http://www.visajourney.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=187745

No you don't need to get transcripts from the IRS, you can submit his 1040 and supporting slips (W2's etc)

Now you should relax a bit

If they are self employed, will they have W2 slips? I assume that's a T4? I'll ask him.

Thanks for the link
