Question for those that have recently completed interviews in Montreal.

I am reading conflicting information on the Department of State website regarding the specifications for the photos. Did you have them done to the US specs or Canadian?

Thanks.

Sorry OBX - I'm going to tag a question on to this

For your pictures for the interview, do they have to be taken on the same day? I have 2 pictures taken on 2 separate days, can I use those?

Question for those that have recently completed interviews in Montreal.

I am reading conflicting information on the Department of State website regarding the specifications for the photos. Did you have them done to the US specs or Canadian?

Thanks.

I like canadian_wife have left over pictures from previous forms, has anyone tried using different pictures (1 from one day and 1 or a diff day) or do you think they all need to be identical?

I had my interview on Monday and brought photos in the US size. I don't know if they need to be identical though... I get nervous over things like that so I'd bring in identical ones.

2008-10-14: Mailed DS-230 and I-864

2008-10-30: DS-230 and I-864 received by NVC

2008-11-04: RFE

2008-11-18: Overnighted missing documents to NVC

2008-11-26: Case Complete at NVC!!

Should be U.S. passport size

MTL_interview_page2.jpg

Thanks. :star:

I did read that in the interview letter but the letter also referred to the Department of State website which posts conflicting info. One page says 2x2, another says to Canadian passport specifications.

I'm going with the US size.

Anyone know about taking two photos that were taken at different times?

I'm not sure about the taken at different times question. Oh and I just want to say I posted the letter in case you hadn't received yours yet.

I am a bit confused though - on our interview letter the web address given is:

immigrantvisas.state.gov

If I go there and look at the photograph requirements it says: Guidelines

The photographs must be square measuring 2 inches x 2 inches (5 cm x 5 cm).

So i'm wondering if they are now giving out a different reference page on the interview letter?

This is the site referenced on the letter.

http://travel.state.gov/visa/immigrants/info/info_1335.html

On the page that lists photo requirements for the interview preparation it lists detailed instructions and specifies the US size. (http://travel.state.gov/visa/immigrants/info/info_3740.html)

Now when you go to the link for US Embassy/Consulate specific information you get this:

"Please pay careful attention to the photo instructions, as they are quite specific. If the photos

you bring to the interview do not match these specifications, we will have to ask you to obtain

new photographs before you can be interviewed. Note that this is the same photo standard

used for Canadian passport photographs."

http://travel.state.gov/pdf/supplements/MT...L-0003-0808.pdf

So that's what confused me :wacko:

At this point what's a few more photos...maybe I will take a set of each.

They are 2 inches by 2 inches and no they don't need to be notarized. You just have to write your name on the back of them.
