We got the study guide at the biometrics. It seems to be helpful.

Sure. First, you read the booklet (quick lessons), then go to www.passCitizenshipExam.com and test yourself online with those exactly questions. You don't need anymore to involve your relatives in your study process. Extremely convinient way for your final preparation.

Don't assume that she has five months to learn the answers. As you can see in my timeline, my wife's interview was scheduled only three months after we mailed our application.

I agree with the others, however, that if she hasn't got too much difficulty with English, the questions should be easy to learn.

I learned it all back in October and am still waiting on an interview. Now I have forgotten it all and will have to relearn it! I am going to wait until I finally get my date though.

Hi,

Can you tell me where to find/purchase these flashcards from please?

Thanks

Clara

I had the flashcards and they were the best way for me to study. I could mix them up and I could put them in different piles and so on. They worked great. If you have a basic knowledge of American history, politics and geography, you don't have to study too much. There were only a few answers I actually had to memorize. It's fairly easy to do. I think taking a class is a great idea if you have problems with the English language. Just to practice it, especially in context with the interview and all the key words used there.

Reason, logic, nor the power of deduction do not apply to studying for an arbitrary subject like civics, you either know the answer or don't. The colors of the flag and be pink, magenta, and yellow, no logic here.

Some people can just read the questions and answers once, in our case, twice by reviewing the test questions twice in the long drive over to our field office. This required both deep concentration and focus that is possible, even with a wife that can't remember the name of the movie we watched the night before. Such is also known as cramming for a college test, to literally stay up all night and jam your brain with information. Also reduced the retentivity of the mind, while those answers will be fresh in your mind right before the test, you will forget most of the answers the day after. Making one wonder what college testing is all about. While some can read over the questions once or twice, others have to do it many times, this is called learning by rote.

Your brain is no different than other parts of your body, it needs exercise to stay in shape and to keep your brain in shape, physical exercise certainly helps you do that. Activity is key that counters sitting in front of a TV set all day.

Learning is the process of doing, we have five senses, normally with words seeing and hearing are the key senses we use, taste, smell, and feel play a very minor role. Association helps, like to think of the likes of John G. Roberts Jr. as one of Bush's puppets for example as an element that torture is okay.

Also helps if your wife struggled with the ambiguous questions asked on the N-400, that is also a key part of the interview if your IO goes over that application line b line as to why did you answer these questions the way you did.

I found reading the civic questions very inspirational with many questions, where did we go wrong since the Constitution was written. One very strong example is the formation of the USCIS that just about infringed on all of my rights.

There are side benefits to learning about our constitution, the interview only touches on this key subject, by knowing how our government is suppose to work, can participate in it and help to make corrections. Problem is, not enough people are doing this, so we are led like blind sheep.

Our major course of study was reviewing all the questions and answers twice in the long drive to my wife's interview. While with the so-called old test where we received the study guide with the CD at biometrics, had to beg for it, found all the questions on the web, copied and pasted them to two sheet of paper, and organized them, like flag questions, constitutional questions, geography, etc.

Since I was driving, wife would ask me the questions, and she would correct me with if I gave the wrong answers, actually gave a lot of wrong answers, because you can learn a lot more by teaching than learning. Just two of the 96 questions had a degree of difficulty, memorizing the four amendments dealing with voting and the 13 original colonies. Heck if asked those, can still miss two out of ten and pass with ease. Rest were simple short answers. We did that twice, she answered all six instantly, faster than her IO could even finish the question.

Attending class would be good as a lot of other stuff is covered, but may not help you just to memorize the hundred or so questions. They give you both the questions and the answers, and that is all you need to know, and only have to memorize those for an hour or so to pass.

Call it dirty pool, wife was asked questions that didn't even pertain to our constitution, like our senators name, governs name, name of our capitol, who is head of a city, the name of the supreme court justice, but she could snap all those back, so your pretty much have to know the answers to at least 60% of the questions.

I hate flash cards, too awkward and childish. They give you the hundred or so questions and the answers they want, read them and memorize them for an hour or so.
