Hello

I am expecting to be processed soon and would like to start preparing. I am wondering if, once we have a case reference number from NVC, whether we can download the Packet 3 documentation from the (Bangkok) embassy, prepare all requirements including police report and medical, and submit them to the embassy? Can this be done before my fiancee actually receives the Packet 3 by regular mail from the embassy so as to get in the queue for an interview faster?

Thank you.

You will have to wait for the letter from NVC first , once your letter arrives . It will instruct what the petitioner needs to do , then after the Usembassy recieves your file from the NVC . Your fiancee will recieve a K-Packet from Usembassy , that instructs her what she needs too do , after both of you complete both of your requirements . Then you can setup the interview in Usembassy , and if you pass the interview you will receive all the documents back at the time your fiancee gets her visa . And it will be in a sealed envelope , that says do not open can only be opened by immigration officer at port of entry . If you open the envelope , they will not let your fiancee enter the USA . This ensures the Department of Homeland Security , that no documents have been changed , or they are the originals from the embassy . Cause at the time of her arrival , it gets forward too DHS and she will be entered as legal entre into the USA .

US Embassy and Consulate General Discussion

You are almost there and now you have to deal with the embassy. This is the place to post your experiences or questions related to this last step before moving to the US. Topics relating to I-134's, packets sent from consulate and medical & police certificates should be posted here.

No. Thailand is NOT the PI. The procedure is different for many different countries & not many are similar to the PI.

You can download the P 3 at anytime & follow the instructions. You can submit it any time you are certian the embassy has your case & do not need to wait until she receives it. You can verify that by emailing the embassy & hoping they answer. Send email to the # 2 address.

The P 3 has changed recently according to a V J member so I cant tell you exactly what it consists of. Check it out on the embassy site.

After they receive the checklist & items they require they will schedual the interview & send a P 4 letter indicating the date. The last ones I know about were taking about 60 days after acceptance of the P 3.
