Buying a wedding dress in the Phils

What is a "reasonable" amount to expect to pay for a nice wedding dress in the Philippines? I realize that this is very subjective and can range from 5,000 to 50,000 php, but was wondering what the feeling is here on the subject.

Thanks.

For a nice weedding dress depends on the couturier you choose.Typical wedding dress could be from P15,000 if you will choose well-knowned fashion designers they may charge you P50,000+ .The price also depends on the fabric and style that you want.

Where are you planning to buy the wedding dress? I am in Cebu and I got the best offer from an in-house designer of a cloth dealer and I am paying for PHP12000 (wedding gown, coins, veil, tiara, pillows, pouch bag). It took me a 3 months to find this deal though. All the other designers around here were going to do it for PHP30000-40000 - a ripoff!

aside from the couturier and the location, they would also scale up the price if they find out the bride is getting married to an american and getting married in the US.

I had my beautiful wedding gown, complete with veil, my maid of honor's gown and my daughter's gown for less than 10,000 pesos ($200 or less for 3 gowns) My gown was made of expensive lace and had swarovski crystals scattered on the bodice, while my veil had lace trimmings and swarovski on scattered on the entire length. I was from Davao and I went to a local seamstress who is known for making beautiful gowns in our place. I never told her I was getting married here and nor did I ever tell her I was marrying an american. I bought the materials and just paid for the labor. I found out that no matter how expensive the materials of your gown, the labor would always be more expensive.

I was a chepo but my gown didn't look like it, everybody thought it was beautiful and they thought/assumed it was expensive and I just accepted the compliments with a smile  .

There was also a vjer before who bought her gown at divisoria for less than 5,000 pesos (she boought it the day before she left for the US), it was very beautiful and she looked absolutely gorgeous in her wedding gown.

It will not be the price of the gown that will make it beautiful and classy but the one wearing it.... and most brides, especially if they are marrying for love, will be glowing on her wedding day no matter what the cost of the gown will be.

Yeah it's true, there's so many cheap gowns in Tutuban Mall or Divisoria area...as in all kind of styles you want for a low price. I also know some cheap gowns but looked so expensive when you wear it in Baclaran area near the church. You can bring your own design or choose what style you like and they will sew the dress the way you want it to be, its so affordable. Why spend more if you're just going to wear it once, right? Just be wise in choosing your material, style or designs so that it will turn out to be your dream wedding gown hehe...

I bought my materials from Tutuban and had my local seamstress make it. Total expenses ( wedding gown, veil and shoes ) was P5,000.00. My in-laws thought it cost me a thousand dollars to have it made because it turned out very beautiful.

Its not the price, but how you wear it.

Goodluck and congratulations on your incoming wedding.

If she lives in Metro Manila then she knows Tutuban for sure. Just don't forget to remind her to be careful as snatchers are everywhere in that place.

just curious.... Are the wedding dress in US expensive? Because I don't have my wedding gown yet. I don't know if I will buy here in Philippines or in USA. I just want to buy my dress where I can save money. Thanks.
