Hi All,

I just received an RFE from CSC yesterday (3/19/09) dated March 14th. Basically, I was given a Supplemental Form for 129f where I am being asked whether I met my fiancee through a marriage broker and questions about any past criminal conviction. I have answered them when I submitted my petition, so I m not quite sure why they want me to answer the same questions once again. Anyway, they are just simple check one of the boxes kind of questions, so it's not complicated. I sent the reply to the RFE this morning (3/20/09) and according to the Post Office they should receive it within 2 days.

Has anybody been given the same type of RFE and how long did it take for CSC to approve the petition after they receive the required document? Since mine is not at tall complicated, I don't see why my case would be delayed further so I'm hoping to receive the approval soon.

Our journey:

Aug 13 08 - introduced over the phone by her best friend (conference call)

Aug 14 08 - 2nd conference call

Aug 17 08 - our first one on one talk

Sep 13 08 - told her I'm falling for her

Sept 20 08 - Jamie's bday, surprised her with gifts

Oct 30 08 - went to the Philippines to meet her

Oct 31 08 - "I love you"

Nov 18 08 - went back to the States... saddest day of my life

Jan 03 09 - filed 129f

Jan 05 09 - CSC received petition

Jan 06 09 - NOA1 notice date

Jan 10 09 - NOA1 received via US mail

Mar 14 09 - RFE

Mar 19 09 - RFE Received

Mar 20 09 - RFE reply sent to CSC

Mar 25 09 - CSC received RFE

Apr 08 09 - NOA2 date

Apr 11 09 - NOA2 received via US mail

Apr 14 09 - Case forwarded to US Embassy in Manila, Philippines

it's normal for USCIS to issue RFE for these kinds of questions, it could be as short as a few weeks for them to review your case again and make a decision or it could take as long as 60+ days...

Most important thing is you sent back EXACTLY what they asked for. If so your petition shouldn't be delayed much more then the mailing back and forth time.

Who knows for sure. Since they are working on it they may just approve it!

K1 denied, K3/K4, CR-1/CR-2, AOS, ROC, Adoption, US citizenship and dual citizenship

!! ALL PAU!

At least you have SOMETHING haha. I've had nothing since 1/23 (touch), and people from the end of January have been approved. And then theres all the people waiting even longer than us :( I would love to have anything..even an RFE right now, since its better than my nothing. Although, if i actually got an RFE i'd probably get upset lol.

I didn't receive the same RFE but it was also something very simple. I returned the RFE on March 4. I was approved on the 13th and we received the hard copy yesterday (20th). Hopefully you will be approved soon. For some reason, I got no email notification of the approval - would have been one less week of worrying! Good luck.

Just curious... did you forget to tick the box under part C, Q2 on the I129f? The above question is military related so a lot of people dont think they need to tick the box below that refers to past convictions. Very common RFE.

Actually, you were right. I forgot to do that. Yes I also thought it's a particular question for military people only. That just sucks thinking we could have been approved a week ago. Well, at least we know that our petition is moving now, just need to wait a few more....
