Well on a brighter note Family in Bombay will be happy to hear the news

Family in Bombay were a little disappointed when they heard that I would not be persuing the K3 and hence not making a trip to India around April as initially planned....

I'll be in Bombay in April!!! We should have a party!!!!

Finally contacted USCIS and just like I suspected - their response "Yes, you are out of normal processing times but with your reply to the RFE on February 2nd the adjudicators still have 14 days to respond to your RFE." I knew he would say that.

Such a bunch of BS. Nice enough guy on the phone but not really what i wanted to hear. Formulating letters to my senator/congress representative this weekend. Tired of the sit back & wait garbage

At least its a timeframe to work with. You can use that as a tool to call and keep bugging and DO write letters if you have to

I hope you hear something before 14 days hun.

So what are you gonna do about your situation here? Why don't you go to India and just get the K-3. You can fly here as soon as you get your visa. an you have been married 3 years..... doesn't that make it an automatic 10 GC? I could be wrong....

I told hubby last night maybe all the NVC BS is a sign that we should persue the K3

Bombay consulate are so helpful they get back to you with information right away.

I was trying to avoid taking time off work, getting a Visa for India and the additional cost of an air ticket to India...but NVC is making me reconsider.

I am eligible for a 10 GC that is why I wanted to stick to the IR1 process.

Oh well...pcaket 3 will be on it's way to Bombay on Monday unless miraculously our DS3032 gets generated over the weekend.

I can't help but notice your negativity. I'm thinking your negativity might be affecting your luck. Have you tried prayer dear? Everything is possible with the Lord... Now I know I shouldn't be suggesting this, and some might even find it a little blasphemous, but a friend of mine turned me onto a secret. She's into that "alternative" stuff that I normally wouldn't go for...but she insisted it might help. I was so desperate to speed things up that I admit, I sold my sold to the devil ha ha and tried it. She gave me a little piece of moss and told me to wear it against my skin and that it would bring me luck. Something to do with the numbers of my name and my day of birth. Do you have moss where you're from? Maybe it's worth a shot. If not, I'm sure your husband can send you some from Costa Rica. There are lots of jungles there I'm sure!

Waiting for my lawyer to finalize our DS 230 so hubby can FedEx us the signed version on Monday. Once we have it, we can send all docs in to NVC. Not counting on a May interview anymore. I decided it was making me stress out for no reason. Whatever will be shall be Although, if it works out for May I will be super happy. I believe karma stars are in order for all of us including Seren and Prince+Angel

I'm not foreign. I was born and raised in the south. Relocated to NY several years ago though. I guess the southern belle will always shine through!

Yes you need a visa to get to Bombay, unless you are an Indian Citizen with a Indian passport. Its a pain in the butt!! However, its pretty straightforward to get a visa to India, atleast in NY it is. Simple application, and the visa is usually issued the same day.

I got a 10 year visa in 2003, back then I think it was like $130. 2 weeks is ridiculous!!!!
