"Open" Visa Packet

For any of you who has received the visa packet are these things normal:

1)The brown envelope together with the passport is inside a sealed plastic bag.

2)The upper left corner of the envelope is diagonally cut open and stapled to the brown envelope is a paper indicating summary of immigration details. My papers inside are about 1.5 in thick and the part cut open is the stapled area of the papers.

So technically, the brown envelope is already open (though I did not open it). I opened the plastic bag to get the passport (which is okay as per instructions attached to the packet) and check the info on the visa. Is this "open" visa packet normal? Should I call the embassy about this?

3) Another concern about the visa: I noticed under the GIVEN NAME it failed to print my entire name:

To illustrate with fictitious names:

Surname

PASCUAL

Given Name

MARIA CRISTINA ROMER (it should be ROMERO but the R is cut in half and the O is basically not there--I'm guessing the space was not sufficient to accomodate the entire name).

However, below the entire name is spelled out and printed correctly:

VIUSAPASCUAL<<MARIA<CRISTINA<ROMERO<<<<<<

Is this normal?

Thanks!

Very correct. This is exactly normal. That is the way Trisha's was. There has been past threads about that and to expect that so we did. When we got the to POE there was no issues. The Immigration agent opened the package and just processed the papers and away we went to our home in the US 2 days ago.,

- Its normal.

- You could open the plastic to get your passport and CFO info sheet.

- There is a diagonal cut on your brown envelope, big enough to verify if you have the right paper. I tried to look inside that small opening to verify if i got all the right papers. It contains most of the paper that my husband submitted to USCIS. The CD from SLEC should also be inside that envelope.
