I just read somewhere that you should get to the embassy around 8? When they open? All our paper says is the interview is at 1:00 pm so we just thought we would get there 3 hours before? Is this fine? Thanks guys just worried to death!

People start standing que outside the Consulate from around 7am. They try get there first thing in the morning to miss the peak hour traffic and to get into the que which can go about two blocks up the road, and probably also to try get in earlier (which doesnt work, you just get sent to the back of the que if you're too early for your appointment). If you're there by 11am you should be fine. By that time most people are already in the building and there are no que's outside. If your SO is there very early, there's a mall right across the road where he can have a cuppa instead of standing out in the cold. (it will be overcast and quite cool in Jo'burg tomorrow with possible rain)
