Hello!
I need to apply for a norwegian police record (I'm half norwegian and lived there several years). Was wondering if anyone knows what to put in the part that asks the reason for applying for a police record? Do I just put K1 Visa USA or do i need proof of that?
Any advice would be appreciated!

I have a friend who lives in Australia, I think he's been there for maybe two years or so, and yesterday he asked me what the pros and cons are of registering with Skatteverket (Tax Agency) as living abroad (skriven utomlands) vs. registering as still living in Sweden. Apparently, he is still skriven in Sweden as living with his parents.

When I moved here to Pittsburgh, I never even considered the possibility of not sending the papers in to Skatteverket. I just naturally assumed that doing so was the only option, the right thing to do.

So, what are the pros and cons? Thoughts? Opinions?

How much time has it been with US-Scandinavian couples, any ideas on that?

Thanks! A lot of paperwork this is, but somehow doing something makes the wait more easier. And I'm doing other paperwork at the same time, because I'm trying to get a registered nurse-title also in the US. So double the fun. Bureaucracy feels most days more like bureauCRAZY. blink.png

Du kan inte beställa det från nätet. Du får gå dit och be om det. Se till så dom stämplar det och dina föräldrar måste stå listade på det.

Simply put "Visum til USA" or "Innvandring til USA" - They'll know exactly what version the US embassy requires.

You could put anything really, as long as the person receiving the application is able to compute that it's being used in connection with the US embassy. No proof needed. Specify that you need it in English!!

Not sure if the same rules apply to Sweden, but when I notified Skatteetaten it was for a number of reasons. 1. I'm still liable for taxes as long as I'm residing in Norway, 2. I can still be called into military service as long as I'm residing in Norway until I'm 44, 3. Certain mail from governmental institutions will only be mailed to my "folkeregistrerte adresse."

Of course, on the con side they now unfortunately know that I no longer qualify for a vast array of public benefits :(
