I talked to a supervisor at the NVC yesterday, trying to get answers to questions about changing our embassy for the interview. She told me that she has been seeing applications coming in from all different dates in the month. I just mentioned to her that we had filed in late March and she said it made no difference what day of the month we filed, it was all dependent on who gets our file. She told me to call them at least two times a day, morning and again in the afternoon, starting NOW, to check if they have our file yet. For us, to change to the Embassy in Brazzaville, Democratic Republic of Congo, we need to catch it before it goes to Copenhagen. She said that I could call as many times a day as I wanted, they didn't keep track of who calls or how many times.

I mention this because a bunch of the February filers were calling and suprised to find out that their applications had been sent to the NVC and they hadn't even received the NOA2 yet.

The supervisor I talked to was extremely helpful but I had to ask to talk to someone else. The first person I got on the phone was less than helpful and basically read from a script. I had to ask her if there was ANYONE there that could just answer a few questions - that's when I was handed off to the supervisor.

Just in case someone else needs to know how to change their embassy....I have to call and catch the file before it goes to Copenhagen and once they have it I have to email them a copy of Lars' visa for Congo, his work authorization and address. They in turn send it on to Brazzaville. IF I don't catch it in time, then I have to contact the embassy in Brazaville and they request that it be sent to them from CPH. No matter what, she recommended that I notify Brazzaville that it's coming as soon as we know that it's been approved and sent to NVC. The biggest problem we will have in all of this is scheduling the interview. Brazzaville just re-opened their embassy in January 2009 and they are a tiny, tiny place. The supervisor thinks it may take months to get an interview. I didn't tell Lars or my familhy that....yet. An entire wedding was planned for Thanksgiving.....geez, I hope we make it!

Ya'll have a great Tuesday!!

This would violate the rules. You have to wait until after you're approved before you can tell everybody the wait is easy and they need more patience. If you're still waiting yourself and you try that, it probably violates some rite-of-passage thing. It's like a hazing ritual where you first make it through the gauntlet and only then can you tell everyone else it was easy (and hope they didn't take pictures while you were doing it).

I never would have believed my journey to happiness would begin with something called an "I-129F"

OMG Missy thats so funny..

Well it sounds to me your journey has gotten more interesting.

I wish you the best of luck with getting things transfered to Republic of Congo ..

Thanks for the info too

Talked to the immigration caseworker from my congressman's office yesterday. She said they had submitted a status request to USCIS last week, and gotten USCIS's standard reply that it could take 60 days for a response.

No touches since 4/1. :(

Improved USCIS Form G-325A (Biographic Information)

Form field input font changed to allow entry of dates in the specified format and to provide more space for addresses and employment history. This is the 6/12/09 version of the form; the current version is 8/8/11, but previous versions are accepted per the USCIS forms page.

Okay, I'll go first. This will pass. We've had problems come up because of the waiting, EVERYONE has. It's hard but it is worth it and this will blow over. The thing that the two of you need to do is talk about it, keep in touch. You are almost there. If you can encourage her to hang in there just a little longer, I am sure that you will be together before you know it.

Okay March family - help me out...how many of us have wanted to quit, for a minute or two, and then got back on this ride and kept on? I bet all of us have!

Hang in there.....tell her to come on here and we'll all encourage you!

There are probably fewer weeks remaining until the NOA2 than months you've been apart. Try to talk to her and see if she will come around. We all go through periods of burn-out during this waiting game, and it would be a shame to quit when the finish line is in sight. If you love her, fight to keep her. And if she still insists on ending the relationship, at least you'll know you did your part. Also, if you can't work this out, it could be for the best in the long-run since there will always be difficulty in any relationship. Best of luck and let us know how it goes.

Stan said everything I wanted to say, just better. He's rght. As a girl....sometimes that is what I wanted to hear - I won't let go, I won't give up. This may be just what she needs to hear right now.

Just one thing I'd add - when you talk to her and try to get her to hang in there, DO NOT mention the ring........... ;)
