Hey Richard, you asked what I do for a living. I'm a proposal manager at a business development consulting firm. We provide strategic proposal consulting and lifecycle proposal development services for companies that are bidding on federal contracts. Or, the short version: you hire us to help you respond more effectively to RFPs, or you hire us to handle the whole process and write kickass proposals for you. :)

Improved USCIS Form G-325A (Biographic Information)

Form field input font changed to allow entry of dates in the specified format and to provide more space for addresses and employment history. This is the 6/12/09 version of the form; the current version is 8/8/11, but previous versions are accepted per the USCIS forms page.

Cool, Stephen... interesting business.. I don't work with many companies that do federal work.. but I will keep this in mind when I do.

In my opinion, we should all be linked on Linkedin. In the businesses that you are in...I think it could be useful. I run across a ton of people from all different businesses, looking for me to refer them to someone for all kinds of different things.

I'm a big believer in networking - in my business, it really pays off. A few years ago I traveled with my two older kids on a trip to France, with a big group of kids from school. We were stuck on the plane in Jackson, on the runway waiting for fog to lift. I stood up in the front of the plane (it was small) and did a fast presentation about what I do, how I am the best, a quick market analysis for the different areas in Jackson and then I passed out business cards.

After that little performance (which I mostly did to embarass my meanagers) I sold 5 houses and picked up some referral business. People called me and said that they would never have the nerve to stand up and do it and based on that alone they thought I must be pretty confident and succesful. I am sure some were annoyed but it paid off for me.

I don't do that kind of stuff any more, they have all moved off to school and I work almost exclusively on referrals now so I don't have to go out trolling.

They don't call me grace around here 'cause I'm really light on my feet and have good balance! I am all goofy and wacky on the dance floor. Think Elaine in Seinfeld.....it's embarassing. I have taken ballroom dancing twice and it was awful both times. Put me on a crowded dance floor with a few martinis in me and I'm much, much better.

I went more than twice, WAY more. The first go was when a friend was getting married and she made everyone in the office go for 6 weeks, twice a week. It was pure torture. I lead, I trip, I step on everything but the floor, my pants or dress gets caught in my heels.....it was a hot mess.

The second go was at the YMCA in Mobile, they were offering it and Maggie and I took it. This time it was once a week for a month. No better.

In high school I had a job as a telephone soliciter selling dance lessons at the Arthur Murray School of Dance in Chattanooga. Isn't that funny?

Hey guys, I'm getting frustrated as most of you are and decided to follow the lead of Sir Richard in sending a letter to my congressman. I was thinking of sending it on tuesday so let me know what you think about when to send and your comments on the letter thanks, mari joe

Dear Senator,

I have a particular concern in which I need your help. I filed an I-129f (petition for fiancée visa) with USCIS on March 25, 2009. I have called them and gotten conflicting responses as to the status of my petition. One representative tells me I am outside the processing times and they are working on my case, then referred me to an officer who tells me I am within the processing times and they are not working on my case. I have signed up for case status online and there has been no activity since March, stating my case as received and pending and the USCIS website indicates that processing times are below five months, which I am clearly beyond. I greatly appreciate your efforts to help in obtaining a service request to initiate action on my case and I hereby give you permission to look into my concern.

Sincerely,

Vermont Service Center Consulate: manila, philippinesI-129F Sent : 2009-03-23 I-129F NOA1: 2009-03-25 I-129F NOA2 : 2009-09-02

Sincerely,

I would add your EAC# and also download the actual form from his/her website that authorizes him/her to look into this...just in case. I would hate form the to take a week to write you back and then have to fill out the form and send it back. I would also add that according to the USCIS's very own website the time table is now 5 months.. since it is relatively new and if his/her immigration specialist is not real busy they may still think it is 6 month.

Other than that... I think it is fine
