If I read it correctly that canadian poster said "nvc case completed mid feb" so, hopefully you'll be able to get april interview date since your case was completed sametime.

Thanks again for all of your prayers and good wishes. It certainly makes this easier knowing there are others who understand.

Hello!

Today I called the consulate in Rio de Janeiro to do the switch (k-3 to Cr-1) and I got bad news. They are not able to do the switch because, according to the person I spoke on the phone, the date I have for the k-3 interview is only K types of visa (whatever!). So I cannot do a CR-1 instead. I'll have to cancel the K-3 interview and wait for my CR-1 date. It's not so far away, I know. But still it is a little disappointing. :(

The papers were delivered at the consulate this morning by DHL, and when I mentioned it to the person on the phone she said: "This is a huge building with 10 floors. You cannot tell if your papers were really received by us!" Ok, she is right, but still, I was not speaking in a rude tone of voice, demanding anything... Anyway, she explained to me why the switch cannot be done and how I can cancel the K-3 interview. I also received an email as a response to the one I've sent saying the same thing: The switch cannot be made.

I spent the whole weekend preparing myself to this kind of answer...

Well, now I have an interview date an only a catastrophe will change that. April 9, here we go!

Monica&Isha,

I am sorry to hear that your try of converting k3 into cr1 didnt work :( But the gud thing is there is not much difference between your k3 interview date and CR1. I e-mail my(mumbai) consulate today about processing cr1 visa on k3 interview date so, let see how that goes. There were two people here on VJ who were successful in converting k3 into cr1 after there file reached consulate. I am hoping and praying that I will get the same outcome. I'll keep you guys updated as soon as I get response back from consulate.

My wife went to VFS office today to submit her paperwork and I can finally say we are done with paperwork. Now countdown begin for interview on March 30th.

FYI, I was successful in converting K3 to CR1 since my file was already at the consulate. On march 30th consulate will process cr1 visa instead of K3.:yes:

Congrats to those who got their interview dates and good luck to those who are (still) waiting!

I have a question: my case was completed and sent the consulate in Frankfurt, Germany, last week. But as far as I know Frankfurt is an Appointment Post, so why did they forward the case but didn't assign me an interview date? Did I miss something? Hubby called NVC twice and got the same answer both times: case completed and forwarded to consulate. The operator didn't say a thing about an interview.
