St. Louis has some awesome Mexican food restaurants! Lots of ethnic diversity here in fact. There was never a good Mexican restaurant back home, so I always enjoy eating it here.

Love me my Tacotime!

Canadians Visiting the USA while undergoing the visa process, my free advice:

1) Always tell the TRUTH. never lie to the POE officer

2) Be confident in ur replies

3) keep ur response short and to the point, don't tell ur life story!!

4) look the POE officer in the eye when speaking to them. They are looking for people lieing and have been trained to find them!

5) Pack light! No job resumes with you

6) Bring ties to Canada (letter from employer when ur expected back at work, lease, etc etc)

7) Always be polite, being rude isn't going to get ya anywhere, and could make things worse!!

8) Have a plan in case u do get denied (be polite) It wont harm ur visa application if ur denied, that is if ur polite and didn't lie! Refer to #1

I think I have strep throat, or at least a throat infection. My head is pounding and all I want to do is sleep... and yet I'm at work because I couldn't justify a sick day... because I took one last Friday.

So I was all ready to go to Canada Thursday afternoon. But then, my little brother who plays in the ECHL has drawn the Trenton Devils (New Jersey team) in the first round and plays two games here this weekend.

So my older brother calls me and says he wants to come down and stay with me to watch the games. My parents just got back from Cuba and so they are deciding whether or not they will all come and stay with me this weekend instead of me going there.

Either way, I really don't care. It's really about seeing my family. Part of me though wants to go back to Canada because, of course, I miss it!

But I would JUST LIKE TO KNOW so I can prepare either way. If they come, I need to clean my house. If I go there, I need to prepare myself and the dogs to take the drive.

Ughhh!

"...My hair's mostly wind,

My eyes filled with grit

My skin's white then brown

My lips chapped and split

I've lain on the prairie and heard grasses sigh

I've stared at the vast open bowl of the sky

I've seen all the castles and faces in clouds

My home is the prairie and for that I am proud…

If You're not from the Prairie, you can't know my soul

You don't know our blizzards; you've not fought our cold

You can't know my mind, nor ever my heart

Unless deep within you there's somehow a part…

A part of these things that I've said that I know,

The wind, sky and earth, the storms and the snow.

Best say that you have - and then we'll be one,

For we will have shared that same blazing sun." - David Bouchard

What's wrong?

Ongoing technical problems. I need to reimage my machine and start over, really. icon2.gif

When doctors tell you something is going to hurt a little, it hurts like hell.

~ Catherine

Could you imagine if they told you it was going to hurt like hell?!! :o:lol:

The first time I visited my wife, I got a blister on my heel that was the size of a loonie. I could barely walk and had to go see a doctor at a clinic. He opened the blister and then started swabbing it with silver. While he was doing that, he asked me: "Are you allergic to silver?"

I'm not, but thanks for asking that ahead of time! At least I got a tetanus shot. I hadn't had one of those in years.
