Not much to vent about. Just wanted to drop by and raise the roof "hey hey"

Actually a little bit of a headache coming on- off to take a BC powder.

They still make BC Powder? I still remember those awful commercials.

Hey Miss Stacey! Nice to see you again. I've been wondering how you've been. :) No idea what a BC powder is. Does birth control come in powder form now? lol

Grr - I hate vacuums and I hate vacuuming! My Dad is due to arrive in a few hours - he is driving down from Kingston, Ontario so I put off vaccuming until today rather than have to do it twice (ok, so I'm inherently lazy, too, hehehhe but I do hate vacuuming!). Of course, the vacuum decides to go on the fritz! The beater bar isn't working and when I turn it on there is a hot, burning smell. So, on top of everything else I have to do to get ready I had to run the vacuum over to the vacuum repair shop so I can get it back for next week. Instead of vacuuming, I had to broom sweep all of the carpets and then go over everything with the carpet sweeper which doesn't have enough power to really vacuum well, hence sweeping before hand. Boy, I have got my exercise today! Ok - finished the dusting, cleaned the kitchen - just have to do our bathroom, water the plants, sweep the porch and take a shower before starting dinner. He should be here in about 3 hours - I think I will have enough time to do it all - if I get off the computer now! :);):P

“...Isn't it splendid to think of all the things there are to find out about? It just makes me feel glad to be alive--it's such an interesting world. It wouldn't be half so interesting if we knew all about everything, would it? There'd be no scope for imagination then, would there?”

I never knew what they were until I moved here. My husband swears by them. I finally tried one day and was amazed how fast it works.

It is a little package of aspirin powder. You empty the package onto your tongue and then drink it down. It is a little bitter if you don't do it quickly.

I can relate, Kathryn. I'm somewhat in the same boat. My mom is coming for a visit, although it is in a few days rather than a few hours, and our vacuum seems to be just sweeping the dog hair without actually sucking it up. The dog kind of sheds a lot, so we'll probably vacuume it right before we head to the airport, but we do sort of need to either fix the thing or buy a new one so we know it will work. Oh yeah--and I need to move my aloe plants back outside for the summer so I can clean around behind them and stuff....but we may get a frost advisory for the three nights just before she gets here!

I lOVE my Dyson vacuum cleaner, lol

Canadians Visiting the USA while undergoing the visa process, my free advice:

1) Always tell the TRUTH. never lie to the POE officer

2) Be confident in ur replies

3) keep ur response short and to the point, don't tell ur life story!!

4) look the POE officer in the eye when speaking to them. They are looking for people lieing and have been trained to find them!

5) Pack light! No job resumes with you

6) Bring ties to Canada (letter from employer when ur expected back at work, lease, etc etc)

7) Always be polite, being rude isn't going to get ya anywhere, and could make things worse!!

8) Have a plan in case u do get denied (be polite) It wont harm ur visa application if ur denied, that is if ur polite and didn't lie! Refer to #1

 Well, then he's had a pretty good life so far! You should keep a worst day diary for him so he can see that no matter how bad things are, it can always get worse.
