JILL! I am so with you!! I understand the germaphobe issue. I am so with you!

I have a vent..

My husbands boss. Apparently he wanted my husband to stay late tonight and my husband knows we are going out tonight, but didn't feel that was an adequate excuse so he said he had to pick up our son, who is his step son. Well apparently his boss said: "Can she not watch her own offspring? Seems like you stay home with him a lot with him already."

Are you flipping serious??

First of all, Mike and I have an agreement, and we swap days. He has four weeks of vacation a year that he never uses! We agree that PA days will be used for Ethan. So far this year Mike has taken 2 days off! TWO! That's not a lot compared to using all 4 weeks of his freaking vacation! And when he does stay home, he WORKS from home so again, no vacation time is ever really used.

I am so close to calling up his boss now and giving him a little piece of my mind.

Mike isn't even picking Ethan up. He's meeting me! I wish he didn't use Ethan as an excuse.

Also, you referred to my son as 'offspring'?

Oh that's it, guess who's getting absolutely sh1tfaced and rowdy at the company Christmas party this year: ME B1TCHES!!

Stupid a$$hole.

How rude! Obviously no idea what the concept of "family" means. I would have been really hurt by that remark. It's not as if you're just dating! Your husband is your son's father in every way that matters. I hope he told him that. But I'm sure you will if he doesn't.

They don't get it. They are all childless unmarried urban hipster types.

And the way my husband decides to tell me, 3 emails with: "You need to promise you won't flip because it's kind of funny..."

And wouldn't tell me until I promised. Well I lied.

Oh my god, what a stupid a$$. I can't believe he used the word offspring, and it's really NONE of his business what your husband does on his time off / after work hours

What an ignorant so-and-so.

It's absolutely no business of his what your husband does after hours, or why he chooses not to stay late.

And childless or not, that is an incredibly rude and inconsiderate remark for him to make. He's your husband, not your babysitter. That's his family too.

Oh boy, if that had been said to me...

Not that you need the encouragement, I'm sure, heh.

Make sure you give play-by-play reports after that Christmas party. *nods*

Someone is trying to take being a douche a little too far. TBH, if I was in your husbands situation, I wouldn't have said anything about it after the fact.

Do I get a cookie if I say yes? :P

Or do I start a rant about how there actually are no teams, because the decision was made from the start...

*anticipates all the Twi-lovers being thrown into their own thread, much like those Sports-lovin' folks*

I am only now learning about the true depths to which twilight fans go do. The women I had to kick out of the conference room yesterday refer to themselves as Twi-hards. I guess some reference to them being hardcore fans. I have discovered what buttons to touch with them. It's quite hilarious to see grown women argue about what fictional characters should be hooking up. I have heard the term twi-tard and think that applies to them (not calling anyone else that as it is a case by case situation for me )

I'd be frightened of anyone at any age referring to themselves as "Twi-hards"...

The shrieking, screaming antics of thirteen year olds is far too over the top. The idea of thirty-something women doing it... oi.

I don't understand why people repeatedly say "it is illegal to visit the United States and get married - that is visa fraud". It is repeated over and over again on VJ.

I also don't understand how VJ folklore gets carried on and on. With people sending a crate load of evidence with their I-130 and I-864 etc. - I just don't understand. If you send the correct documents and evidence, that is all they are looking for, why send a bunch of surplus stuff? Now it's no skin off my nose if someone actually WANTS to do that, but when they tell others to do it and it becomes truth - that's weird.

Well it is against immigration law to visit the States and get married when you have the intention of doing so when crossing the border. Luckily the lawyer I had made it crystal clear that if it was found that this happened there would be at least some type of ban levied against that person.

My wife has been back since June 5, 2007. Now we're just livin' man, L I V I N :)

haha

No, it's not! It's the wording that is clearly confusing people.

"...My hair's mostly wind,

My eyes filled with grit

My skin's white then brown

My lips chapped and split

I've lain on the prairie and heard grasses sigh

I've stared at the vast open bowl of the sky

I've seen all the castles and faces in clouds

My home is the prairie and for that I am proud…

If You're not from the Prairie, you can't know my soul

You don't know our blizzards; you've not fought our cold

You can't know my mind, nor ever my heart

Unless deep within you there's somehow a part…

A part of these things that I've said that I know,

The wind, sky and earth, the storms and the snow.

Best say that you have - and then we'll be one,

For we will have shared that same blazing sun." - David Bouchard

I was shown case law by our lawyer that even stating that if an immigration officer didn't ask what the plans were for crossing, if the intent was to get married and reside in the USA from that moment on it was against the immigration law. Now just visiting and then leaving is of course fine.
