A bird pooped on me this morning. It was GROSS!

Ew that happened to me a few weekends ago at the jersey shore. I was walking on the boardwalk enjoying my fresh lemonade and it crapped in my lemonade, down my arm and on my ####### :crying:

That makes me realize I was lucky---at least the bird did NOT poop in my coffee! Actually, it had a lid, but if there was bird poop on the lid of my coffee, there was no way that coffee was going anywhere near my mouth. If a bird pooped in my lemonade, I'm not sure I'd ever stop throwing up.

:dead: ugh, poor poor you.

I got crapped on a few weeks ago too. It was so huge, I thought an albatross had dropped a load. Turns out it was just a well fed sparrow.

And wouldn't you know . . . we got another Vonage solicitation package in today's mail asking us to come back!

“...Isn't it splendid to think of all the things there are to find out about? It just makes me feel glad to be alive--it's such an interesting world. It wouldn't be half so interesting if we knew all about everything, would it? There'd be no scope for imagination then, would there?”

I was just reading a post about someone attending community college ... and they pay like 20 bucks a credit. Even some posters who were talking it costing more were paying 70 something a credit. Frick!!! Hubby starts school in a couple weeks and his tuition is $183/credit plus fees ... so $2550 for the semester, which we have to pay up front because financial aid is delayed until we get a letter from Selective Service stating he never had to register because he lived in fricking Canada when he was 18-25.

Actually I would recommend that anyone using vonage call and try to cancel lol

They offered me 2 months of free service and then $14.99 a month (as opposed to the regular $24.99 a month) for 6 months! Our service was fine and I actually would have used them in Canada - except Shaw is cheaper. Of course based on my recent interactions with them, I would never use vonage again.

I'm going to try that!

Actually, I'm quite happy with my Vonage service. I cut off my Bell phone and ISP when cable/modem/VoIP became available in my area. I STILL get letters from Bell pleading with me to come back.... and I don't even live there anymore! Crazy Bell.

My vent:

Why can't my husband put something away or tidy something up after he uses it??!!!!!!!:angry::angry:

I blame his mother. I actually asked her if she never had him do anything when he was growing up because it's so brutal. She told me she did spoil him and it was all her fault. Sometimes I'd like to send him back home. I've already brought up my kids and trained them properly! I don't want to do this again! :bonk:

another health care vent - grr . . .

Earlier this month I needed to have a minor surgical procedure. After I booked it, the doctor's office called and said they had talked to my insurance company and my share of the cost would be $150. I sighed - but since it needed doing I said, yes, I understood. So I paid my $150, had the procedure and everything is fine. Well, yesterday, I get the statement from my insurance company about their claim According to my insurance company the procedure is covered 100% and my total responsibility is a $20 copay! The amount that is over the PPO Preferred Provider's contracted amount is $149 and I am not liable for this. The stupid doctor charged me for the difference between what they were contracted to accept from my insurance company and their going rate! Now I need to go after them to get $130 back (minus the $20 copay). I am NOT happy and I am definitely reporting them to my insurance provider under their 'fraud' number.

It's this man that lives in my Mother's apartment building. He visits her a lot and will pick something up for her at the store if he is going there - stuff like that.

Anyway, when my mom went to the hospital the other day, he called me like the next day and asked me to ask her if it was ok if he went to see her. I asked, she said ok, so I called him and told him that.

Yesterday someone called me, I didn't recognize the number, I answered, they didn't speak, so I hung up. About 3 hours later, same number - so I answer and he keeps saying Helloo and so do I.

Eventually he says 'are you not talking to me'? I said - who is this?? It's my Mom's friend and I can only surmise that he is drunk <_<

He says - so why did you call me - I said, I didn't - you called me??

"Well your number is on my cell phone"

"That must be from the other day when I called you"

So right away this conversation is off to a bad start. However, where the martyr part comes in. This guy has this idea in his head that he is my Mother's keeper. While my Mom is recovering from her pnemonia, she is still kind of frail, she doesn't eat much, but she does not want to discuss it.

So Mr. Idiot said, oh, I took her walker up to her - I said yes, that's great, she told me - he sayssss

"So you are in touch with her".

What???? He has some stupid idea in his head that we ignore her, for some reason. I already know this because my Mom has said many a time things like "Mr. Idiot asked me if the kids were coming over" - stuff like that.

I just laughed at him and said, of course. Then I said I was speaking with the nurse and she will be getting out next week. He says, do you think she should get out? No Mr. Idiot, I think she should languish in the hospital.

For God's sake. So I say, well it's up to her what she wants to do. He says, well I was talking to - woman who visits my Mom twice a week or so to help with stuff (paid - it is organized through...some organization) and between the two of us we can't take care of her, she needs full time care.

So I calmly said, when my Mom is feeling better I will discuss it with her and she will decide what she wants to do. He said well I hope you guys can convince her to - whatever, go to some kind of care facility or lodge or whatever.

When I type this out it all sounds kind of rational and polite - but it was not. I was polite, but he was bossy and martyrish.

I explained to him that my opinion in persuading my Mom to do anything carries no more weight than anyone elses and that she will decide to do whatever she decides to do. Now that may not be 100% true, but what I was trying to say is that I am not my Mother's parent.

That was the end of that conversation, edited, of course, for length.

I was polite to him because he caught me off guard and as he lives in the same building as my Mom, I don't want to start a big gossip session. The thing is, is my Mom frail right now - yes, but she has pnemonia!! Generally she takes care of herself quite well tyvm. But she is not senile or stupid and I respect her and she will decide where she wants to live, not Mr. Idiot or anyone else.
