I noticed the same thing in the Michigan THs when I was still in Ontario. Even the sandwiches were different and I don't think they always served 'fresh' coffee like the Canadian THs do. Suppliers are probably different and it shows.

OOO - I just had a nasty thought - maybe they are using HFCS in the iced cappucinos instead of sugar - that would definitely have a big negative effect on the taste!

EW That would be terrible, yet not surprising! I know the Tim's in Canada have a rule to toss the coffee after 15 mins or so and make a fresh pot. They probably don't do that at Tim's in the US

We got some crappy Tim's coffee (hot) in Michigan last year, and I complained to them. Something just wasn't right....

Well, it turns out, they used half and half...which is 10% cream. In Canada, they use (or used to anyway) 18% cream. I believe it makes a difference.

That is exactly what it is carla.

I use light cream in my coffee and I buy Tim Hortons ground coffee at Wegmans and it tastes ALMOST like the real thing.

I am fully aware that using light cream is bad for me but I have to live a little.

Light cream is bad for you in comparison to what? 2%? There is nothing wrong with some fat in our diet! Go for it! The half and half, which is light cream, 10%....it's what I use at home all the time. Only because I can rarely find 18% cream. 35% is whipping cream...now that's gross in your coffee! haha At home, I don't mind using 1/2 and 1/2...when I go to Tim's though, I expect 18%.

Like ur avatar sprailines, lol! There is this 1 hippy chick that lives by us and she has these anti-canada stickers on her car, one is about seal hunting, and she has this stuffed seal that sits on the back window! i sooo want to tape a small club to it,lol Ansd im neither for nor againt the seal hunt!! I honestly havent done any research on it to make an opinion!!

Canadians Visiting the USA while undergoing the visa process, my free advice:

1) Always tell the TRUTH. never lie to the POE officer

2) Be confident in ur replies

3) keep ur response short and to the point, don't tell ur life story!!

4) look the POE officer in the eye when speaking to them. They are looking for people lieing and have been trained to find them!

5) Pack light! No job resumes with you

6) Bring ties to Canada (letter from employer when ur expected back at work, lease, etc etc)

7) Always be polite, being rude isn't going to get ya anywhere, and could make things worse!!

8) Have a plan in case u do get denied (be polite) It wont harm ur visa application if ur denied, that is if ur polite and didn't lie! Refer to #1

I am a million percent against the Seal Hunt... the way they are slaughtered is inhumane and disgusting, I am ashamed Canada is part of the seal hunt. I actually support the EU ban on Canada's seal products

I think it's funny that sometimes when I tell people that I am from Canada they assume I own a club and go out in my free time to club a seal.

It's like the only thing they have on us.

Sea of slaughter anyone? Gah that movie turned me vegan for an entire year.

Kind of like how my in-laws bring up the war of 1812 every time any topic of military comes up :P
