I only pay via paypal, and with my credit card (via paypal) Only been screwed once on Ebay, but thanks to mastercard, got my $$$ back!!

Canadians Visiting the USA while undergoing the visa process, my free advice:

1) Always tell the TRUTH. never lie to the POE officer

2) Be confident in ur replies

3) keep ur response short and to the point, don't tell ur life story!!

4) look the POE officer in the eye when speaking to them. They are looking for people lieing and have been trained to find them!

5) Pack light! No job resumes with you

6) Bring ties to Canada (letter from employer when ur expected back at work, lease, etc etc)

7) Always be polite, being rude isn't going to get ya anywhere, and could make things worse!!

8) Have a plan in case u do get denied (be polite) It wont harm ur visa application if ur denied, that is if ur polite and didn't lie! Refer to #1

 exactly why i use my credit card - i've heard some horror stories about paypal too, it seems the only protection you really have is with a credit card.

Ebay has never wronged me, except this one time, I ended up getting double charged. Now I only buy from people with 99-100% rating, and they have to have served over 1000 users. >_>

Don't be fooled by the ratings! The person that ripped me off had a 100% good rating. They had made a bunch of fake orders up with people they knew and then people rated them so they could get that rating.

"...My hair's mostly wind,

My eyes filled with grit

My skin's white then brown

My lips chapped and split

I've lain on the prairie and heard grasses sigh

I've stared at the vast open bowl of the sky

I've seen all the castles and faces in clouds

My home is the prairie and for that I am proud…

If You're not from the Prairie, you can't know my soul

You don't know our blizzards; you've not fought our cold

You can't know my mind, nor ever my heart

Unless deep within you there's somehow a part…

The wind, sky and earth, the storms and the snow.

Ohhhh, Cat. That is so infuriating about the fiestaware and that e-bay person. :(

Not too sure... I just know these rules really hurt families. I know they are in place for a reason, but the "good ones" don't always get through. My 2 cousins who are born in Venezuela but Canadian citizens moved back to Canada 10 years ago. Their Mom (my aunt) died and their Dad (Venez. citizen) still lived there. Well my cousin got married and wanted more than anything her Dad at her wedding, at least 1 parent. He is a doctor down there, has a good income and applied for a Visa. He proved he had $$, had a return ticket, was NOT planning on staying in Canada. Just wanted to be at his daughter's wedding. Well Canada denied him the Visa, claming his country was too high risk and too many Venezuelans came to Canada on a Visa and claimed refugee status. Needless to say, it caused heartbreak for my cousin. She hasn't seen him in over 5 years as the situation in Caracas where he lives is too troubled to visit and he can't come to Ottawa.

Awwwww. That is so sad, Jill. :(

My husband for some odd reason told his mother that we'd be going down to the shore. He knew I had these appointments but he told her that he would be there... yes he shouldn't have done that.

So she just wrote him the meanest email telling him that we treat them with such disregard because we did not call them and let them know that we weren't coming down to spend the day there. So at the end of the email she told him she wanted to write him off.

:o

That is the most outrageous, unfeeling, heartless thing to do EVER. Good grief. My first thought would be concern that something had happened to one of you. NEVER that you're mean and unthinking. Unbelievable.

I know because I had a friend who got hit by a train and I was the last person with her that night, and the last thing we did was fight because she wanted me to keep walking with her and I wanted to stand around and shoot the ####### with friends... and she walked off and I let her go. And to live with that sucks. My last words to her were: "Keep walking then you crazy b1tch, I'm staying here!" Yep.

:(

Hells ya! I think she's marrying the wrong man, she should marry my MIL.

I decided that I don't even want much to do with her anymore. She does this every few months to him and if my husband thinks thats normal and just her being her, thats his problem. But I don't think it's normal and I choose not to accept it. I tried really hard to make her happy for a long time. I refuse to try any longer because its just not good for my mind. :D

It sucks thats she can't accept the fact that Mike is married and yes what she says affects him and it does affect our marriage because we did argue about her craziness. She has no right to treat people the way she treats them. I would never threaten to write my son off. But hey different strokes for different folks, my husband says its normal for her to do what she does. If that's normal... wow.

She makes idle threats when she doesn't get her way with her kids or when they don't tell her EVERYTHING that is going on in their lives. Its sad.

If you offered them both 1 million dollars in diamonds, I'm sure they'd become lesbians.
