I have used the search function but get so many conflicting answers.

I sent the K1 visa pack about a week or so ago. Today i received the first and only thing from the Vermont Center.

It is labeled "I-797C, Notice of Action"

Then in the spreadsheet part it says "Notice Type: Receipt Notice"

Is this what is referred to as the "NOA 1"?

Also there is a "Reciept Number" on this thing. Is that my case number?

I know these questions are old as dirt, but i am not sure what this is.....thanks alot.

Yes that is your NOA-1 and the number on it is your USCIS case number. Now you can go to USCIS website and register to track your progress online.
