I have FINISHED UNIVERSITY!

And I've recieved an amazing offer, someone I know has a sister working for the hospital in Harvard as a psychologist, and says she might be able to get me an internship. That would be amazing! I have to ask whether I'm allowed to do this with a EAD or if I have to have a greencard, etc.. but awesome.

She's also from my town in England. Creepy!

Thanks! It feels great to have finally finished..

I'm really missing my fiance.. last night, all I wanted was a cup of tea and a cuddle with him. Now that I've finished university, I can only wait and prepare.. I'm starting to sort out my stuff today (throwing out stuff I don't need, piling the stuff I want to take). Course I can only take 2 suitcases because I can't afford to ship all of my stuff over, so it's hard to decide what I NEED and what I WANT.

A week and a half to go!

How are you guys doing in the US? Adjusting?

Gemmie: You can do any work on an EAD that you could do with a green card, there's not a distinction between the two, both make you legal to work. The only difference really is that companies are probably more comfortable with hiring someone who is approved for more than a year of work at a time (EAD is 1 year and you have to renew it every year). If the internship is not a paid position (ie, not even minimum wage) then you don't even need work authorization to do the job. I think typically in the US, your profession's internships are paid a low wage (instead of working just to get job experience).

im back... had to take some time away to try and not think too much about all this administative processing bs... well we still dont know anything and hes still saying its not possible for me to come there so at this point im just ready to give up cause the pain is so bad its making me numb. i think i've waited a year and theres nothing much else that can be done.... has everyone else got thiers?
