That was fast, Gemmie.

It seems the medical goes a lot slower here in Croatia (it took me about 6 hours, or so), but mostly because they want you to run back and forth between three different facilities on three different ends of town. Besides that, everything went smoothly for me, too. The forms are being filled by the doctor, there are basically no questions asked, etc.

I-129F Sent: Aug 20th 2008

Interview Date: April 8th 2009, 10:30 - APPROVED!

K-1 Visa Received: April 9th 2009

POE: Aug 8th 2009, Minneapolis

Wedding: Aug 28th 2009

Our I-129f was approved in 114 days from our filing date.

Our case spent 52 days being chewed by NVC.

POE is probably first week of May. Fiance is going to have to go live with an upgrade on the system in the company so he'll be working 7days a week... NICE!

I will be posting my interview experience in the Philippine forum as well but right now I have to get ready for work. Loads of fun... :(

3.21.2014: Received email notification with case # for both petitions; case forwarded to NBC for processing

3.21.2014: Check cashed

3.22.2014: Hard copy NOA1 received

4.08.2014: Both I-130 approved (notification received via email) - It only took three weeks!!!

4.11.2014: Received NOA2 approval notice in the mail.

5.01.2014: Called NVC to ask for status of paperwork. Advised they received both application on 4.28. Advised to call in 30 business days for an update.

6.02.2014: Email notification received from NVC that shows parents' NVC case number and instructions to pay AOS Fee and fill out DS 261.

6.03.2014: Paid AOS fee ($88 for both petitions)

First Welcome to America I'm Happy you made it safe!. :dance: Regarding your question about school hmmm I have no idea but I think they can't refuse him, just go check to the closest school, I see you came thru Newark, I live near by!. In what city you are?. I'm in Union, NJ.

Hi everyone!

Glad to see that things are moving for most of us, those that are still waiting, keep fighting and hold on! You have come so far you dont have much further to go....

I am now in the USA and was wondering if anyone knows if my son can go to school on the K1 visa? or where I can find out about it please. I was surprised that I didnt get any further info from Border Control after my 1.5 hour wait at Newark airport.

We have postponed our wedding from 21st March to early May today so that we can just have some 'breathing' time together and time to plan a lovely wedding day rather than rush it.

01/09/09 - Pckg 3 from Embassy received by beneficiary

02/09/09 - Medical exam

02/16/09 - Sent back checklist and docs required by embassy.

03/13/09 - We will fly to see Daddy Gary

03/16/09 - 1 PM Interview (Pray God he gets visa)

03/16/09 - 5PM INTERVIEW PASSED WOOHOO. Thank God.

03/25/09 - Visa on hand! he went to DHL office after phone call received.

04/18/09 - My Cuchi came, (NYC)a wonderful unbelievable moment!:)

04/20/09 - We applied for marriage licence. (Township Municipal Bldg Health Dept.)

04/23/09 - Licence on hand

04/29/09 - Applied for Social Security (He was in system!)

04/30/09 - Wedding day!!! Yeeebaa

05/07/09 - SS card in mail. "valid for work only with DHS authorization"

05/13/09 - Sent AOS paperwork.

06/16/09 - Biometrics Apptmt.

06/25/09 - EAD Card in mail!

06/26/09 - Letter saying case transfered to Cali.

08/08/09 - Residence Card in Mail! Yuuupiiiiiii.

THE END FOR 2 MORE YEARS.

Thanks for your advice about the school. We have started registering him in school and they dont seem to have a problem with it but thought I would just check :D

We actually live in PA, but Newark was cheaper than Philly to fly into. But still, in this huge country I could still be your neighbour :D

April 25th - Married

April 27th - Changed name on SSN

May 12th - AOS paperwork sent

Aug 20th - Interview in Philly

Aug 21st - GC production ordered

Aug 24th - Welcome to the USA letter received

Aug 31st - Rec'd son's GC

Sept 2nd - Rec'd my GC ....all set for 2 years now

LIFTING CONDITIONS

June 20th sent I-751 to Vermont

June 25th received at Vermont.

June 27th NOA date

July 2nd Packet returned as section not filled in correctly---how stupid am I?!?!?

July 5th Packet sent back (overnight delivery) to USCIS with form filled in correctly

July 6th Packet received and signed for at Vermont

August 18th Biometrics Appointment in Philly........JULY 27TH EARLY BIOMETRICS DONE

Nearly 1 year later!!!
....received notification for my son to get biometrics done!(May 15th 2012)

After a mishap with the Sydney Consulate, we've finally managed to get the interview for March 17th 8:00AM.

Our Timeline

June 22nd, 2008: Got engaged in Sydney!

August 9th, 2008: Mailed I-129F Petition

August 11th, 2008: I-129F Petition received, signed by V SEMEGI

August 12th, 2008: NOA1 issued

August 13th, 2008: Touched

August 18th, 2008: NOA1 sent

August 20th, 2008: NOA1 hard copy received!

December 19th, 2008: Touched

December 21st, 2008: Touched (on a Sunday?)

December 22nd, 2008: NOA2 sent!

December 27th, 2008: NOA2 hard copy received

December 31st, 2008: NVC mailed petition to Sydney Consulate

January 13th, 2009: fiancée received packet 3 from Sydney Consulate

Feb 11th, 2009: fiancée returned packet 3 documents to Sydney Consulate

Feb 12th, 2009: Sydney Consulate received packet

March 6th, 2009: fiancée inquired about packet 3's status,

March 9th, 2009: Sydney Consulate claims that the interview notice was emailed out on Feb 13th, 2009 for Feb 24th and that she never showed up for the interview!!!!

March 10th, 2009: After some arguing with the Consulate, they've rescheduled an interview

March 17th, 2009: Interview is at 8AM, fiancée, approved!!!

March 19th, 2009: Fiancée received visa in the mail along with yellow envelope for POE

March 28th, 2009: I'm flying to Sydney

April 5th, 2009: We're flying back together!

April 21st, 2009: Got legally married!

PLEASE EMAIL YOUR CONSULATE A FEW DAYS AFTER MAILING IN YOUR PACKET 3 DOCUMENTS JUST IN CASE THEY EMAIL YOU AN APPOINTMENT ALMOST IMMEDIATELY AND YOU END UP NOT RECEIVING IT. THEY DO EMAILS NOW!!!!

Hi All! Just checking in to say hello. On Friday it'll be two weeks since our petition was approved, so I will be calling NVC to see if it has arrived there and if I can get any status update on it. Anything I need to know for calling, or just have my NOA2 receipt number in hand?

You'll need the number, as well as both the petitioner and beneficiary's dates of birth, as well as names. Here and there they'll ask you to verify an email address or a phone number.

Have a pen handy, most likely they will tell you your embassy case number (probably something like JPNXXXXXXXX or some other abbreviation of the city name the embassy is located in) and the date your petition was shipped from NVC to the embassy. Good luck, you are probably just about done.
