You should try and call the US Embassy in Costa Rica, because on the link I sent you, it says a letter is required from the consular section.

Hi everyone! It was nice to be in this thread..

A new thread.. We are all out of VSC at last!!!!

Husbie and I would send both IV and AOS package today.. Hope that there would be no RFE. :innocent:

Hope all of us would have a smooth and fast NVC journey..

Goodluck to all of us!!

Good Luck...Candid Witch!!! If you mail it out today, using USPS express, it will get there tomorrow, and be in the system sometime on monday.

Thanks.. Guess they would receive the AOS package earlier. The IV package would take at least 2 days from Manila to US using FedEx..

Just want to double check.. Is this list enough?

DS230 part 1 and 2

birth certificate

cover sheet

marriage certificate

nbi clearance

police clearance

petitioner's birth certificate

passport photos

passport biographical page

Originals and photocopy...

Husbie's AOS package

I-864

2006 and 2007 tax transcript

2008 tax return from taxact

W2's and 1099's for 2006, 2007 and 2008

employment certificate

cover sheet

6 months of pay stubs

All originals.. Does he need photocopy, too?

For the DS-230 package, you don't need the petitioner's birthcertificate. You can send if you wish, but you don't need to.

I would also arrange the package in the following way:

1. Cover Letter (place the photographs in a small clear platic bag or white envelope (write photographs on the envelope) and attach the cover letter, remember to write lightly your name, case number and date of birth on the back)

2. Barcode Coversheet

3. Signed DS-230 Part 1

4. Unsigned DS-230 Part 2

5. Copy of Passport Biographic pages

6. Original and copy of Marriage Certificate

7. Original and copy of Birth Certificate

8. NBI Clearance

9. Police Clearance

For the AOS Package:

If you are submitting tax transciprts you don't need to send the 1099s

arrage in the following order:

1. Cover Letter

2. Bar Code sheet

3. I-864 signed

4. 2008 W-2 and 1099s

5. 2008 tax return

6. 2007 W-2

7. 2007 Tax Transcript

8. 2006 W-2

9. 2006 Tax transcript

10. Employment letter

11. 6 months of pay statements.

Hope this helps. This is how I submitted both of my packages.

Good Luck!!!

Thanks a lot!!!

I forgot to mention, keep 2 full copies of the packages you sent to NVC. One for you, and one for your SO, this way if you need to provide copies, you always have a backup :)

Yes.. We did.. Thanks a lot.. Hoping that there would be no RFE..

It is almost 1am in here.. Need to get some sleep as of the moment.. Too tired..

Have a great day everyone!!! :innocent:

I promise to love you in good times and in bad, with all I have to give and all that I am, in the only way I know how -- completely and forever......

ok, Question..

I just talked to the USCIS. I was asking about time frames... The rep told me since my CR1 and my K-3 were approved at the same time the CR1 voids the K-3. I never heard that before. I was hoping to go the K-3 route but she said I have to go the CR1 route. I think she was talking sh!t because I never heard that. And tons of people are going the K-3 route with both approvals.... What do you think???

Congratulations to all how got approval yesterday....I wish too to join you people..I got approval yesterday :dance::dance:

'esposadetucho' you can still go with K3. if your K3 and CR1 are both at consulate then CR1 voids the K3..so don't worry

I know the reps at USCIS don't know anything. but I just thought it was odd that she would say that to me. My attorney told me that the K-3 will get to the embassy faster. So I proceed with the K-3 and then what.... instead of a conditional GC he gets his Permanent GC??? I should have listened in class, huh?
