I know there will be differences from one embassy to another, but there must be some general information about what is in each packet. My finacée is in Senegal, so we are trying to prepare. I think I have everything covered, and I have been reading just about every related forum post on Visa Journey, so there shouldn't be anything in either packet that I haven't thought of. I just haven't seen any post out here that clearly addresses what would or should be be in each packet.

I don`t know if it will help you, cause I can only tell about the german embassy, but packet 3 was a letter that just told me to look at the homepage of the german embassy and to follow the steps... and packet 4 was a letter with the interview appointment.

packet 3/4 is consulate information... moving

Packet 3 is instructions and forms for the interview, medical exam etc. Very important, you can download it from the website, do not wait for it to be sent by the consulate. Packet 4 is a letter saying you have an appointment, which by then you will know. More or less useless and absolutely not necessary. We never got either. Packet 3 I downloaded before I sent the I-129f and had ready long before the NOA2. Packet 4? Still living happily ever after without it.
