Just talked to California center. they gave me generic answers of processing time of 6 month.

No answers on why some people get it in 13 days and some wait 67 month.

They said every case is different. And the lady said that she has not heard of 13 day or a month processing.

I have registered online.. and the system is overloaded she said and will not be fixed till my case is over.

so i have no idea how people see their TOUCHES. The only thing she said is to sit and wait.

Now that SUCKS big time.

Are you kidding?? California needs money and so does the rest of the US. :)

So they are going to approve them fast and cash those checks/money orders.

People will be flying that otherwise wouldn't be.

New people in household, new clothes/items to be purchased. Weddings to be arranged.

LESS Money going overseas to support someone else!

It's perfect sense as to why they should pass them fast with our economy the way it is right now.

Unfortunately, them cashing the check/money order doesn't have an effect on approval time! They are more than happy to take our money and make us sit and wait! They cash the check within a few days of recieving the package. My package arrived there the 15th of Jan, which I think was a Thursday. The 19th was MLK Day so they were closed. My check was cashed by the end of the day Tuesday, if I remember right. Then, I heard nothing until this week! Ideally, all of you should be hoping for 90 days. Hopefully they will come faster, as they have for myself and a lot of other Jan/Feb filers. But, there are still a lot of people who have been waiting a long time! I just don't want you to get your hopes up too much. My approval came after I had one of the toughest days....seeing people a MONTH after me get approved when I didn't even have a touch..blah blah. If you expect it, it probably won't come!

"If you expect it, it probably won't come!" - i am to much of a realist for that.

And California needing money.. maybe.. except they are FEDERAL EMPLOYEES... not state.

Our money gets to Obama faster then Arnold can say " I BE BACK ".

I think you probably partially correct. They will collect from every source possible. Why shouldn't it be I-129F people.

Maybe they will realize that faster processing times = more revenue as we will tel others how fast it was.

Sort of - word of mouth advertising. Any other ideas?

No matter what petition is filed , K1 K3 or CR-1 the waiting is the hardest part!!!!! Good luck K1's.

Truly happy!!!

So vega...just to get this straight, they are saying our petitions dont show up on the website because they are overloaded and that they won't show up until our cases are finished processing? Sucks in that we won't see touches, but if thats the case then the day our cases show up online will be the day we are approved! It sucks that theres such a variation in timelines, and with the website thing, I know touches don't necessarily mean anything but it would be slightly more comforting if it showed up online, because it almost feels like its not really there.

Danu, i called to snoop around and get a feel for what and how they do things. In reality i felt stupid asking questions i got no answer for. She just told me that mu number is real and i was in the system. The case is being "processed" no news of eny other kind. The wait a agonizing only because we do not know. All we know .. that we are in the system.

It sucks also because we cannot judge our own time line with work, travel and everything else that is connected to K-1.

We sit and wait. and wait.. and sit.. a sometimes we drink beer in the process :innocent:

I can see the logical benefits to processing immigration faster, though I had always felt that it more likely that approval process would be slower - more immigrants into the country would potentially mean less jobs for other US citizens.

I hope the wait is as fast as can be, but I'm all set for a long wait. And really, I can't be with my love until at least the end of Jan 2010 anyways, so it doesn't make all that much difference to me in the end. Though, to have my K1 as soon as possible would be wonderful.

At least you found out the answer that I cannot (I am the ben.) because I can't call USCIS to see that we exist, although we got our paper so I know we do. I actually found a breakdown of the number which made total sense to me. I figured the 09 was for the 2009 fiscal year, but i found out the next 3 digits are the working calander day, then a 5 for some unknown reason, then the last 4 is the number of petitions they have done up to and including you. (I ended up being in the thousands!)

I feel the same, but, on the other hand, the people who received their NOA2 faster did not have any emails or any changes to their status since the NOA1 notice. If that's what it takes, then I rather not receive any notice and it may come faster. LOL!

As i understand if the online thing is not working.. means that there will not be any emails.

Still i would like to know the progress.

The sad fact is that it's out of our hands now. We can only be patient. It's no use trying really hard to find out from USCIS what the progress is when you already know that you won't get a straight answer.

I know it sucks. But, we may get lucky and the NOA2 will arrive faster b/c we've seen that it's happened.

It varies. They recieved ours and cashed the check/processed the NOA1 the very next day. Others have waited a week or so.

Your NOA1 may have already been issued. My NOA1 issue date was 3/12/09, but my check being cashed was not posted until 3/16/09. So, be patient, it's probably in the mail.
