The irony is that I was just giving counsel to a new VJ member on this very topic. My question is this.

When my fiancée goes for her interview, should the proof that she brings (emails, photos, chat logs) be mostly/only from when we filed the I-129F until the interview date i.e. the past five months, or should it include evidence from previous years? We've been together over four years but lived in our respective countries for two of them.

I am getting these together right now, to send sometime this week.

Thanks for input

Just last week I had a close friend go through the interview process at the embassy. She opted to be at the interview with her fiance, as will I. They were asked about engagement party, e-mails, ect. She had none of this, only her ticket stubs from the times she had gone to visit him, and a couple of pictures of her with him and his family, and a heart filled with love for the man she was going to marry. She looked the interviewer straight in the eye and told him that she did not have to have an engagement party in order to prove that the engagement was real. They would rather spend the money on plane tickets for her to go and visit him while they were waiting too long for this whole process. She told him that of course they exchanged plenty of IMs and E-mails but these were personal between 2 people in love and she would not be sharing them with a stranger. Then her S.O (after recovering from shock by the way she so firmly and soundly talked to the interviewer) opened his heart and told him why he loved her, and how much his family loved her. She then did the same, and talked about him and both of their families. By the end, they had almost forgotten about the interviewer and were looking into each others eyes with pure love. The interviewer cleared his throat, and said congratulations. I believe you and best of luck in your marriage in the USA.
