Hello, My wife just arrived last thursday on CR 1 Visa, her POE was at Newark.

I looked at her passport, she only has standard Arrival stamp on her passport. And she has the Visa Sticker for Cr1.

No I-551 Stamp with Temp A#.

Is this normal or should i call someone ?

no such thing as a temp "A" number... on the arrival stamp is it marked with an expiry in one year?

YMMV

yeah it has expiration date of Feb 19, 2009. But when i first came to the states in 1992 in our passport they had temp A #, i guess things have changed.

well I would have expected a date 2010....

Yup, with the I-130 petition, the "A" number has long since been assigned....

YMMV

Do you have immediate travel plans? ... the green card should arrive in about 30 days

YMMV

Normal. I came through Newark too, on my IR-1. They gave me a normal date stamp over my visa in the passport; that is enough as the visa itself clearly states it is valid as a temporary green card from the date of POE.
