Hello everyone...been long since I last posted in this forum. Just a quick update, I am now in US since Thanksgiving and happily married. =) we just got married last Feb 10.

Though the saddest part was that my mom was supose to be here on our wedding day but unfortuantely she had an accident the day she was going to the airlines to confirm her ticket. But thanks God she is safe and trying to settle things back home so she can come and visit us.

Since my last post, I mentioned that my 1-194 will be expiring today, although we got married on the 10th of this month. So that means we're ok. And today my hubby got our Marriege license in our mail so anytim this week we're ready to file.

However, my question is.....can I go and change my name at SSA by tom or friday? or do I have to wait for my renewed EAD ( after i dont know how long)?

And how much is the total cost for filing AOS and the rest of the needed documents? We wanted to send it asap so that I could also get my drivers license and State ID.

Firstly, congratulations and welcome to the US.

Did you already obtain a SS card in your maiden name when you arrived (hope so)? You should be able to change your name for your SS card but we have learned here that they are not all created equally!

AOS is a total cost of $1010. This includes EAD and AP. Have a look at the AOS Guide to see what will be needed.

good luck.

Thanks.....yes I did applied for SSN 2 weeks after I arrived. $1010 does this include everything? Even the fee for traveling outside Us while they process my AOS?
