Hey there,

How are you all doing? Well we are nearing the end of the road USCIS wise for another 2 years (ish) as we have our interview on March 17th - St Patrick's Day fittingly.

I hope you are all well and getting on grand.

We are very very happy - living it up in Independence Oregon. I'm working away and Mercedes is nearly finished her first year of law school already - just 6 weeks of classes to go. Doesn't time fly? We have been here over 7 months already.

We are traveling back to Ireland for a visit in a few weeks so that's really welcome and my kids are coming out for the summer (Eire comes in June, Gage in August).

So, roll on Spring and warmer weather - we had snow overnight in the Willamette Valley - and it's good to see everyone survived the USCIS process unscathed (so far ... ask me again in 2.5 weeks).

Hey Eli! Wow, I can't believe you guys have been here that long and Mercedes is almost finished with her first year of law school -- as someone who's been through that mill (although in London and not USA) she has my full respect. Hope her exams go well and you guys have a wonderful time in Ireland.

So nice to see some old names on here -- now how do we get Aggy (RGNSCOT) who has just resurfaced to post in this thread?? :D

Yes, Maven, it is great to see the likes of Eli and other old friends! Although the original intent of this thread was a bit tongue in cheek, its so nice to hear from those who have been a bit MIA of late.

Eli - I am so happy that things are going so well for you and Mercedes! Sounds like you have a lot of great things coming up in you life! Enjoy your time in Ireland and with you kids over the summer! And do keep in touch. :)

I could murder a fish supper with a wee pinch of salt, vinegar, smothered in brown sauce! oh almost forgot a couple o pickles, all wrapped up in newspaper, followed by a bottle of Irn Bru to wash it down

We need some chippie's over here and am not talkin bout "Long John Silvers". I don't like the taste of the fish batter over here.

Separated!!

I didn't realise quite how bad the bread situation was until I moved West -- in CT you can get really good white bread with none of that sweetness cr@p. I have yet to find even an in-store bakery white bread here that isn't filled with sugar, HFCS or honey.

Maria -- I made Bruce quite a few jars of pickled eggs and onions for Christmas this year and he pronounced them far superior to anything he's had over here, just as good as he got in the UK (if not better). If you want the recipe, let me know!

Jon, all of us deserve a LUD in our CREATE. Its time to mobilize and do SOMETHING about this egregious transgression.
