Has any body recently experienced a scheduled medical exam after interview in Lagos Nigeria for immigrant Visa?. My wife went to Kamorass Clinic Lagos for her medical exam today (after I scanned the the appointment letter that was mailed on Feb 17 to me). Her interview is on March 6. She was told that the next available date for second medical is on March 10.

Despite all pleadings and explanations, she was told that the Lagos embassy would grant her interview, but would not issue visa until she completes the medical. Is that true? anybody?

I called the Clinic from the US and was told the same thing. My wife went to the information booth at the Embassy and was told same.

Does anybody know anything about this new trend. Kamorass claim that they are swamped by number of people they attend to daily. Nigeria population is about 200 million and one clinic in Lagos is attending to Medical exams for immigrant applicants.

Immigrant Visa picked up in Lagos on 03/18/09

If her medical is not completed before the interview they will hold her visa pending the results of the medical.

It has happened before :)

If your hearing that it would only delay her getting the visa but she can still go for the interview, it must be true. Back in 2004 when we went to the clinic we only had to go once, everything was done on the one day.

If everyone is telling you the same information, you just have to go with the flow; I can see that clinic becoming overloaded with the internet and many many people finding love.

My advice would be to focus on the paperwork for your up coming interview since you already have your other medical appointment, maybe she could bring her appt. to the interview with her so that they know she does have an appt. date.

Hope that helps.

That's true. The interview will take place as scheduled. The visa will be approved, pending receipt of the medical report. The applicant can pick up the visa within a week of receipt of the medical report. It happens many times in Lagos.

My fiance just experienced the same thing (2 part medical exam), although she has no scheduled interview date as of yet. Our NVC letter was dated 17 Feb but still no packet at the consulate yet. I called the NVC on the 6th and they said they still have it! She still took care of the medical exam anyway and was told to pay 10,000n now (well last week), and when she returns for the 2nd part of her exam on March 23rd, pay the remaining 6,5000n. They wouldn't let her pay the full amount even though she wanted to.
