Manila Embassy Interview

My fiancee lives outside Bacolod. When she goes to Manila for the interview, she intends to stay there until visa is issued and get on a plane as soon as it is in her hands.

I hear it is not possible to pick up the visa at the Embassy. Does the visa HAVE to be delivered to her home address in Bago City? Or can she specify a Manila address for delivery? Can someone tell me how this works? The visa HAS to be delivered by Delbros Bros?

first off...congrats to the new additions!!! well...for the CSC'ers...it was a friggin' long wait to get to the NOA2 part but the good news is...you're so use to the wait that another 3-4 months waiting for the interview will just be normal.

davidg, you guys had your interview on 09/11/06....how'd it go?

our will be in two days! my fiance is nervous that he might suffer a complete memory block. :lol: i told him...the worse case scenario so far is to get an AR. i hope things will be as smooth as it has been. wish us luck!

when she fills out the DELBROS form...she can put down the address of the hotel she's staying at in Manila.

Oh Wind, so sorry to hear that. But don't worry too much about the reason for the AR. Your fiancee had some changes made in her birth certificate and the embassy just wants to make sure that everything was straight and legal. They will probably double check with both the LCR and the NSO (Philippine govt.) and once they’re satisfied that everything is above board, everything should be ok.

You know the problems we had with her BC, that's what worries me.....we couldn't get a new passport

wind at this point its being held up by the US government (there the ones that sent it out in the first place) you need to contact your local congressmans office ,and explain how long this has been ,and i strongly suggest you go there in person. i think you will find that 4 to 6 weeks will be very short when they get involved. everytime i call my government official it seems to fix the problem in under a week. the only time i couldnt get them to fix a problem was because it was a philippine issue that we paid off the required fee ( a big bribe) and it was fixed in a week. and you've seen my post since i started i may be loud an obnoxius , but i get it done. you an PW are the last of us old timers left if anyone one needs to make some noise its you and PW

I thought about that too but i've heard they won't do anything on a AR unless it went over the time limit. I'm still thinking about it tho. Anyone know who is best to contact in West Michigan?

well they told me something like that on the phone too, but i've never been one that waits ,or follows the rules (im a 100% ### that you want to get rid of) i went in there once they never forgot me ,and never wanted me to come back. and when they say theres nothing they can do ask to talk to the congressman you'll be amazed at how much they can do when there ability to do there job is confronted. go angry and commited ,and make sure they know it, and dont just go to your congressman go to both state senators office ,and do the same i did it and you know that Yove had a birth certificate issue and EAD issues i got both taken care of with in the week instead of the 90+ days they say it takes. and when they tell you that it might be a month to talk to your congressman or state senator make sure you get the spelling of there name so you can write it down on the letter to the congressman/senator that there telling you a month to talk to them. this will also get them off there lazy ###'s to get them to do there job. they may not be motivated by advancement in the civil service field but they dont like to be embarressed at there lack of ability. (like i said i can be a grade A ###) its also good to go in with a digital camera so you can take a picture of the person for your letter :devil: . i look at it like this i pay taxes i want a return on what i pay 35% of my yearly pay too.

so kick ### and take names pictures and let it be known that your the squeakiest wheel they will ever ever see.

this way may seem harsh ,but it works yove being here is proof enough.

There are applicants who are asked to take the sputum test and ECG test. As it was not required from me, i have no idea how that works.

To anyone who's done with their medical, please feel free to call my attention to anything that i missed putting there.

Looks like my fiancee and you have the same interview date. Sep 28 yeh hey. She is someone who really follows the rules and is too shy to ask for an early medical exam. But I am concerned that something may come up (e.g. cold or flu etc etc)to delay the medical exam if she waits until her assigned date of Sep 21. She already has her appointment letter etc etc. How were you able to get an early medical exam date? Did you call St Luke's or did you just show up?

Hi! Yeah, it looks like we do have the same interview date.

She can just go to St. Luke's anytime (as long as she doesn't have her period ) and just present her appointment letter and passport like I mentioned in the procedure.

Getting the medical out of the way is one less thing to worry about.

Thank you so so much for the excellent summary of how to handle St. Luke's. I would just suggest you add on your what to bring list...pera for the fees and shots..... Everything else you said is perfect!

Can someone help with problem?

We got approved for k1 on 9/7/2006 and are waiting interview date and from what i see from other peoples timelines we will probably get a nov interview date.

Here comes the problem, my fiancee is due to have our baby on dec 28, and as of nov 1st she wont be able to fly.

Also on the NOA2 Reciept it says it expires on 1/7/2007

Do we stand a chance for expedite of interview? And if not is it possible to get them to postpone the interview until like february or so that way she will have 1 month to recuperate and for the baby to get strong before they travel?

It would be really nice if she can be here before the baby is born but i realise it is cutting things close being that we still dont have a date for interview yet.

the Embassy will automatically renew thw NOA2 if it should expire before the interview. that happens all the time. if your NOA2 is Sept 7th your interview not likely to be till Jan/Feb. you can request an expedited interview. don't know how easy to get. once the visa is issued, you will have 6 months to use it to come to he US.

The NOA2 is automatically revalidated any number of times for additional periods of 4 months by the embassy so don't worry about it.

Looking at other people's timelines, your fiancee's interview will probably be scheduled for January. Pregnancy is not a valid reason to request for expedited interview. Wait until you know the date of her interview and only then can you send a request to re-schedule (to a later date). You may send the request by fax to (63-2) 523-1215 or by email to ConsIVManila@state.gov

When requesting for re-schedule, make sure that you give all the important details like your fiancee's name, Manila case number, original interview date, reason for the re-schedule, etc. and other info you feel are relevant.

I didn't know that Prolly too late for that now anyways, it's already in review.

I'm hoping that the BC change being in order, the embassy will just request your fiancee to have her passport amended before they issue the visa or better yet, issue the visa and ask her to amend the passport later. Positive thoughts :thumbs:

To second mychelle, your fiancee can specify a Manila address for delivery.

We have been waiting for an interview date since 08 Aug 06. This hurry up and wait thing is getting real old… real FAST! If I am not mistaken, the interview dates are not set further than 90 days out. I'm going to double check that, but in the mean time... Is this true?

Also, I keep getting conflicting information concerning when our interview date will be issued. The Department of State rep said that interview dates for Nov are eminent and to call back every week. However, the Manila Embassy staff, who at first told me that we will be issued an interview date sometime within the last week of August and the first week of Sept, have now told me that they anticipate interview dates for November will be set by the end of this month. Has anyone waiting for an interview date heard anything different?

My fiancée and I simply want to have a date to work against… How hard is it to issue a freakin’ interview date!!!
