Manila Embassy Interview

Sorry to butt in but im just wondering if anybody knows how long does it takes to get an NBI clearance in Manila??? My husband cant get his police clearance not unless he got an NBI clearance they said...Thanks!!!

One day to get NBI clearance in Manila if there is no "hit" (criminal record, court case, namesake, etc.), one week if there's a "hit". Once your husband secures the NBI clearance, he does not need to get a police certificate anymore. But if he lived more than 6 months in another country then he will need a police certificate from that country.

If you use a "fixer" you can have it in 1 day.

It's never advisable to use a "fixer" because you never know if what they would get for you is the "real thing". You wouldn't want to mess up with the embassy on fake documents.

Wow brittanique, that's less than three months wait from NOA2, you lucky girl! Is that a fluke or is your fiance in the military? Congrats!

Updated to add brittaniquec_Chic's interview date.

got my form I-693A aka vaccination supplement

it cost me $25 for the form and $5 for the Td shot at a clinic

not too bad really

goodluck to all!

P.S. i hope it's ok to talk about some aos stuff here eventho it's not the right thread/forum, i really think it would eventually be helpful to everyone when they get here and have to go thru the same thing

and also please DO file for your ssn BEFORE getting married...it will save you a lot of grief

hi windchaser

yah in Manila case, you need to visit USCIS civil surgeon for the supplement for bcos Td shot will taken only in US. not unlike from other country they got their vaccine complete in their country b4 going in US, so they dont need soemtimes to visit civil surgeon they could auto submit the vaccine record from their home country.

usually it takes $20 only for transfer of vaccine records to the supplement form u need. but Td shot is free that you could get it in local clinic, other vaccines if u need to have is more lower fee outside than a designated civil surgeon.

If you are planning on getting a police clearance from Dubai, you'd better start right away. They are very difficult to get and take a long time.

hi! i got started already. already sent my authenticated NBI finger print card to the UAE embassy. now i wait again... :o

We were warned bye the UAE Embassy that it might take 3 months to get the clearance back from Dubai. Instead, we arranged to send the completed request to a relative of a friend that was working in Dubai via DHL. We wired her travel and inconvenience and return DHL expenses via Western Union and she presented the request in person. We didn't want to wait for months to get it back.

Congrats JohnandMarlene on your AOS approval.

Hey jeeleebee, glad you're sticking around like rebel and JohnandMarlene. Most of our old members are gone now. Yup, AOS input is welcome here so those of us still on their way to the US will know how to go about it.

Good luck to jpg for Monday's interview.

Updated to welcome tomnjas to the thread. Can you please provide us with your Manila case number?

3months???? that is horrible! can you please give me a contact number/person or email address from the UAE embassy that you talked to? m looking for the email of the Dubai police, thinking or corresponding with them as well.

your friend who is working in Dubai, was she able to process it without any problems? did you send an authorization letter to her? sorry for all the questions... i am a little bothered by that "3months" wait.

i forgot...

3months???? that is horrible! can you please give me a contact number/person or email address from the UAE embassy that you talked to? m looking for the email of the Dubai police, thinking or corresponding with them as well.

your friend who is working in Dubai, was she able to process it without any problems? did you send an authorization letter to her? sorry for all the questions... i am a little bothered by that "3months" wait.

Thanks for the congratulations ... we are very happy about the AOS approval.

Yes, she did send an authorization letter. She was able to process it without any problem.

The person that did it for us was a relative of a friend. She didn't know Marlene personally and asked for more compensation than we thought reasonable, but we paid it. With the DHL fees both ways, Western Union fees, and her expenses and compensation, we spent about $300.
