- can he go back early the next day for results and vaccinations? how long does that take? he wants to catch the earliest flight out of Manila, (the airport is not that far from St. Luke's i think.)

Medical takes one and a half days if there is no problem. Second day is for vaccination. Your fiance will get his vaccination record and X-ray but the medical results are sent directly to the US Embassy.

i was just curious because we know someone who applied for a tourist visa and passed his medical even though he smoked pot a week before his medical. i guess they do not do drug testing or at least he said NO when asked that question xxx

Are you sure he is not an immigrant and he just applied for tourist visa? Because applicants for tourist visa do not undergo a medical exam in Manila.

thanks for the quick responses!

two more q's:

first, when you say you can pick up the packet 4 from St. Luke's...you mean, go to St. Luke's on the day of your medical, stay in line, take a number and tell the guard you don't have your appointment letter since you're picking up the packet that day... OR go to St. Luke's the day before your intended medical appointment and pick up the packet, then return the next day early morning for the medical appointment?

which is which? either way it would be no biggie since he'll be staying somewhere walking distance from St. Luke's and will be arriving early afternoon the day before his intended medical. i just want to know if there is a CORRECT protocol on this early medical appointment letter pick-up. i hope this make sense.

second, i saw some postings regarding St. Luke's medical experiences and general questions are thrown out at you...and it seems like all the girls answered NO so the Dr. just go on ahead and marks ok and move them along but there is one question that i'm a bit concerned of: have you ever taken/smoked marijuana?

i'm curious, if the answer is yes, i'm assuming they will ask how long ago and how often or how much you've smoked, right? also, if any of you have first or second hand knowledge...what are the consequences if you answered yes? do they give you a drug test? or they just mark YES/abnormal and move you along too? i figured YES is the RIGHT answer no matter if it has been years ago since you've actually smoked it. i know it's small and trivial but it's seems important at this time.

thanks again!

Mychelle,

Kindly check the info below. I found that in this link.

My fiance and I were just denied the K1 visa, and we can't reapply for a visa for three years. We were denied it, because he used drugs in his past, but hasn't used them for three years. I can write a letter of hardship, but I am wondering what needs to be included into this letter?

You might want to think twice before spilling any info.

Mychelle,

thanks for the FYI. there is nothing to spill. i was merely curious on what the consequences would be. i guess the answer is...lying under oath is better than telling the truth. j/k :D telling the truth is way better. in case some moral police is checking this out.

PW, i did not know that about tourist visas but i'm sure he wasn't an immigrant. he's not a close friend of mine...just a friend of a friend. he was talking about going to his medical and his visa interview back in March...after that we've never heard from him again until his brother told us that he's been in the states.

anyway, glad i got the St. Luke's thing cleared up. so he'll just show up there the day of his medical with all the necessary docs and stuffs. ok then! we're set...except for the CFO stuff.

is it just me or Sept. is so close already? yeah, it's just me...

Fate is building a bridge of chance for the one you love...

try this one. :)http://v2.forexworld.us/forex//Home/tabid/176/Default.aspx

scroll onto somewhere in the middle of the page, you will see on the left hand side this navigation box that says box courriers. you may want to enter your zip and it leads you to another page. follow the instructions, it should give you the closest FOREX office. you may want to call them to ask how much it costs. Last time i sent some thing to manila i think it cost me about 65 bucks. but that was like three years ago.. ehehe

Hello,

Just wondering how you find out when your interview date is for Manila, Philippines?

I have my case number, but don't see it listed on the embassy website. Is that where

you found yours? or another location?

My fiance has not received anything from the embassy yet (since 5/22/06).

Thanks for your advise!

Your fiancee can call the US Embassy Manila call center number at 1-909-101-7878 to find out if her papers have already been received in Manila or when her interview date is. The August interview schedule is already posted. The next update in the US embassy website is sometime 11 July, but the september interview schedule is available if you call the call center number.

Hope this helps.

We just saw our interview date posted on the Manila website http://usembassy.state.gov/manila/wwwfvisa.pdf for August 8 but we don't know when the medical examination will be. What is the best way to find out? I heard that you cannot rely on the packet 4 or whatever it is they are supposed to send turning up in time? I tried calling an 888 number for the Manila consulate but they had some voicemail message saying something about buying an $18 pin. The explanation was so garbled I could not make out whether paying this would actually get me the help I need. Anyone been through this and can explain the procedure?

Thanks!

That's the first time I heard 888 number. For information or details of your application the best way is the customer service of US Embassy manila 1-909-101-7878. They also have local number but the lady there will just tell you to call the customer service which is way expensive  .

How much does it cost to call this 909 number? I just asked SBC operator and he didn't even recognize it as a valid number so he wasn't able to tell me. The other number is 1-888-877-9888 but as I say you get some message about buying a pin which I have no idea what it means. Is that the same thing you get on this 909 number? Someone else told me you got to pay $$$ to get through to find out anything - what a scam this is.

Also can someone tell me how long it normally takes for them to send out the packet with the information about the medical exam? can we expect that to be sent in a timely manner or not? or is it up to us to schedule the medical exam ourselves anyway? somone must know this information

First, where are you calling from? If you're calling from Philippines you should use 1-909-101-7878. The cost is 53 Philippine pesos per minute. Take note, the number that I mentioned is for PLDT subscribers only with IDD. If you're calling from US the number is 1-888-877-9888 and have you credit card ready. The card will be charged $18 per transaction. After the card is approved, a nonrefundable personal identification number (PIN) will be given. The PIN may be used to call this number back just one more time, which will allow the caller to speak to an operator, at no charge.

All you inquiries will be answered by the operator. If you dont want to spend money for that then just sit back and relax while waiting for the arrival of your packet and just read the instructions from there :) . I think they are the one who's assigning the schedule of the medical exam but I'm not 100% sure maybe someone from the forum can clarify on this. :)
