Hi Everyone,

We GOT APPROVED!! and the CO congrats my fiancee and said he will approve his visa.. Got the pink slip, hope they will release his visa soon...

but of course we are aware that sometimes even though that your Approved you can be put on AR when they find anything wrong & we are aware with our little discripancy with my fiancee's BC.

Were hoping that CO will let it slide and not to put us on AR but so far they didnt ask for anything, my fiancee mention that the Pre-interview (Lady) didnt even look at our BC,they she just ask for the copy from NSO...

We got the same thing!!! The pre-screener nor the Counselor look at the BC or the Certificate of No Marriage. We came home with those papers.

Congrats w1n78...we had quite a bit of trouble with Delbros delivery, no texting either. She was staying in Taguig (metro Manila) with her brother after her interview and no one knew who she was, so the first attempt was unsuccessful. She finally was able to call Delbros repeatedly the next day and made arrangements to meet the messenger at the city hall. She waited a very long time and almost gave up then finally late in the afternoon he arrives. I'm heading over tomorrow for our long awaited reunion. I can't believe the day has come!!! Good luck.

I had my medical exam done last April 18, 2006 at the St. Luke's. That was thru the US Navy appointment letter. Now i found out about my appointment date for my medical exam will be May 17, 2007. If others take early medical exam, and i take mine...is my last medical result still valid? Also i found this on http://manila.usembassy.gov/wwwh3218.html "Medical results must still be valid upon the applicant's entry to the United States. Results of the medical examination are generally valid for one year. However, in certain cases validity may be limited to six months or less."

Your last medical will not be valid anymore upon your US entry so you need to undergo another medical. Bring your old vaccination sheet on your 2nd medical.

Not really. But in the future......when I petition my siblings (next), or whenever, I'll probably seek an immigration lawyer's advice. "Me and lawyer combo." Like delegation.......Like a team..... But I'll wait till I have a budget. Petitioning famiy members is very time-consuming. Separate petitions for each. It would be nice to relax and have someone assist me with the paperworks----like a businessman who hires employees to help him run the business.............I'm just daydreaming.....................

A lot of people petition their relatives without a lawyer's help. You will only end up paying them thousands of $$ for the simple act of filling up the forms for you, the info of which you will be providing din naman. Sort of, they will just interview you to get the info, type it up in the forms, collate documents from you and submit it to USCIS. Remember, you or your relatives will still obtain the documents like BC, MC, NBI clearance etc. The lawyers cannot obtain that for you so you will still do the"dirty work". The lawyers will simply tell you what to get. Some of the lawyers' advices are also out-dated. If you make tambay here sa VJ, the info are more updated here because everyday, people are able to report the latest developments as they go through their own processes.

If I were staying here in the PI, I might consider getting into the business of being a visa specialist para ako na lang bayaran mo hehe. Personalized pa ang service ko. Like you, maybe I'm just daydreaming....

I agree......Some of them teach / prepare applicants how to answer Interview questions well.....isnt' it.......?

There are sample questions here in VJ and the questions asked are all about family and personal matters and the answers of which are known by heart by your relatives. The only advice that a good lawyer will give you is to always answer honestly and truthfully and everything will be ok. That is the same advice that we in VJ give for free. Remember, a good lawyer will not tell you to lie.

(6) Have he purchased a ring and if so where is the reciept? (7), When will the wedding be?, (8) How many times have we met and when did I arrive in the Philippines for the interview? (9) What is the name of my son and what did he do for a living? (10), What city was I born in? (11), When was my birthday?, (12) What was the name of my bank? This is just some of the questions, it was a lot more. We were with him for almost 15 to 20 mins.

Also note: When we arrived there at 5 am. This woman approached me and said to me how happy she was to see someone else from Chicago. I thought that was strange because how did she know I was from Chicago? x x x Once we were inside, I kept looking for this lady and we never saw her again until we were leaving (11:15am). She was working at the Delbros p/u window outside. I wonder why she pretend to be from Chicago and ask me so many questions? I think she thought we were faking our relationship.

Oh geez. The infamous ring receipt question. Now I'm freaking out. I didn't keep our receipt and I shred all my credit card statements. Oh well not much we can do about that now. Congrats on your approval.

Dean, not everyone is asked for the ring receipt by the consul. However, if it is really freaking you out (cool it man B) hehe) if you remember where you bought the ring, the store might still have a copy of the receipt. Also, you might want to try calling your credit card company and ask for a copy of the statement for the month and year you bought the ring. I'm sure one of them will be able to provide you with the receipt and you can then fax that to your sweetie.

49Bstreet, I’ve heard strange stories that there are embassy employees going around the embassy to detect fraudsters among the applicants. They pretend to be applicants themselves and gain your confidence. The fact that the woman knew you were from Chicago even before you told her kinda gave her “spy status” away. Also, you said you were interviewed for 20 minutes by the consul. Looks like you were really scrutinized.

Do anyone know of a flight that has no transfers for one-way from the Philippines to Chicago?

Rate do not matter, I get 75% of travel for None-Rev flights, but I don't know which Airline to use without having my fiance' to change planes.

Also, can we put Chicago as his POE if this will be his first touch down on American soil or the place he has to change planes?

The only direct flight to the US is on Philippine Airlines but it flies only to LAX and SFO. If he is flying to Chicago, there is no way that he will not change planes. POE will depend on which airline he is flying with and yes, POE will be the first touchdown on American soil and it may or may not involve plane changes. Is he flying Northwest? I looked at the NW flight schedules and it goes Manila-Tokyo-Portland (or Minneapolis)-Chicago. POE for this would be either Portland or Minneapolis depending on which flight he chooses to take.

Salamat sister. I was denied once at nagka-phobia na yata ako hehehe. But I'm going to face this with confidence in my heart. I'll make it this time. I have faith in God. My future mother-in-law even started a prayer brigade among her amigas sa USofA, o di ba love na love nya ako hehehe. I hope I don't fail my fiance and my parents-out-law (hilaw pa kasi) this time around.

Maylet, I remember your problem. What did you do about his BC? Your fiance only had the initial as his middle name di ba? Did you amend it to reflect the full middle name or just followed the BC so that his passport also has the initial as his middle name? Would appreciate your letting us know for future reference. Regarding about your question we just got lucky that they didnt ask for it but i made sure that we have the AFFIDAVIT OF DISCREPANCY that we only paid for 300 pesos in a Public Notary place ( COMPUTERIZED) and have a lawyer signed it and seal it to make sure that the document is not fake and that the person stated with or without the middle name is that person... So far wala pa naman inask sa amin... They actually didnt even look at it... but DFA said his illegitimate so NO MIDDLE NAME under the law... So by the law of the PI we cannot have any cause it's his mom's last name kasi baka mukhang magkapatid sila ng nanay nya.. yun lang pero we havent received the visa but no AR either so were hoping for the best though...

goodluck to you cora for your upcoming interview. i know the feeling of being denied. bfore, i used to be denied but it was made by my sister .however, the japanese embassy denied me for two times possibly because i was just only 16 yrs. old at that time. Then, with this FIANCEE interview my issue was "is having fear that i may not be lucky again" on the other hand i really must hav enough courage to try because this time I do believe what I have now is qualified enough for what they are need to deman. . althought, different scenario but still it is all about petition. well, my interviewed went well.

I was just wondering how come any one of the CO never asked my CENOMAR or even my FIANCE DIVORCED PAPER? what comes to my mind even if he said congratulations ad goodluck, will it take time for me to recieve my visa since they might probably request first to NSO my cenomar and verify if my fiance is legally divorced? my fiance has been divorced for 3 years from now. All I have to do is just to wait the coming week whatever might happen regarding this visa delivery thing. goodluck everybody for your upcoming encounter with the CO!!!god bless to all of you

I planned to have my early medical this 10-11th of April. I dont have my packet 4 yet. the person my fiance talked to said it was sent already last 14th of this month but i dont have it yet.

Im goin to manila on the 5th of April to see my fiance and would be staying there after my medical exam is done.

In case i wont be getting my packet 4 yet next week, can i still go and have my medical exam without the appointment letter? if yes, what documents should i bring in place of the appointment letter? i have my ID pictures and passport already. only the appointment letter is my problem.

hi jackiadam, just free your mind from wondering or worrying why the CO did not ask your CENOMAR or even your fiance divorce paper. As what other people say here, the embassy also check at NSO about the applicant civil status, and about your fiance divorce paper you also don't need to worry about it since the petition papers forwarded by the NVC to USE has all the documents that your fiance sent on the first stage of petition filing (which i'm sure your fiance sent a copy of his divorce papers. Just wait patiently for your visa it will come soon. Good luck !

Lina....did you mean "CAN" or "CAN'T" go without appointment letter. I read the document in the link and unless I missed it, it says to "present your appointment letter (original and photocopy)" multiple times.

The Prescreener will ask for those documents if you do not hand them to him/her. We handed all the required documents per the guidelines and then all the proof of relationship. The prescreener wil ask questions and make notes for the CO. We noticed him reorganizing al the papers and grouping them in different groups with paper clips/staples. It is better to hand them everything at once than to wait for them to ask for things. Ken & Maria

Chad/Lira, The only exceptions I have seen to getting into SLE without the appointment letter has been the following; One girl presented her NOA2, another an appointment letter from the U.S. Military and the 3rd option is to call SLE or the embassy and ask for the packet 4 to be sent directly to SLE and Lira can pick it up there. Both of the examples were the same day Maria attended the medical. Essha of daveandessha did not have her packet 4 either, hopefully she will respond to this. good luck, Ken & Maria
