Dang it! All the hotel rates for Manila go up in April.

I know a man that works in Manila for Palm Plaza Hotel. It is convenient to the Embassy and St. Luke's. His text number is 9198111296 and his name is Tony Avn. My wife stayed there for 10 days while attending her interview and medical exam and then again for 1 day before she left for the USA. I stayed there twice last year while in-route to the USA from Cagayan de Oro to Manila. If you ask him for the P2000 per day rate, he will give it to you. It is a good savings from their regular rate. In the past when I met my wife in Manila we stayed at the Holiday Inn Galleria in Ermita, but the daily rate was P5000 and up depending on what month you were there. I have found Palm Plaza to be the best value for lodging in Manila. However, that is just my opinion.

Hi,

You guys should check ORBITZ. I'm getting Jasmin and graceys ticket there its the cheapest i've found. She will flying from Cebu to newark with one stop....i checked for those of you flying into LAX...they have a manil to LAX with one stop in hawaii for 587...thats tax included...its even cheaper than the first time immigrant fare..its 468 plus 119 tax, of couse philippine taxes are extra...check it out...the date i checked was for march 15...they always have good fares...and they will fed ex the tickets to the philippines ( no e tickets available ).

Jazzy

terps76....

Can you tell us the name of the agency. I assume the taxes was added on top of the $500? And how do you get a first time immigrant ticket? Thats a great price!

I will need a flight for April goin to LAX for my wife.

Thanks and best wishes to you!

Mike

Yeah its a great price and I called several agencies and the price difference is around $70-150. My mother-in-law wants to buy my ticket in LA but it cost $780++, so she asked me to buy the ticket here right away. I just hope our visa will come on time

The agency is Manila International Travel and Tours, its along Bay View Hotel, exact address is Ground Floor Ermita Center Building, Roxas Boulevard. Look for Ms. Joanne at tel#5211312. I just asked her about the first time immigrant rate and thats the price she gave me $500+ $107(gov't tax) + 1620pesos(phil. tax). I asked her how much the difference is with the regular fare and she says its $80-100. Your wife needs to bring her passport and the US visa but since my passport is at st lukes already I just provided them with a colored photocopy of my passport and I will fax them the immigrant visa as soon as i get it. The fee is valid from March 16-31, it was cheaper between March 1-15 but no more seat available. Just give her the tentative date of her ticket cause their prices are still lower than others.

Good luck to you :D

My wife had her K3 interview on January, 25. her appointment was at 7:00am. She called me as soon as she left the Embassy at 11:45am (Manila Time). So, I think that you can expect as much as 4 to 5 hours. Good luck!

Can anyone give me some direction on applying for a social security number for my wife? She came on a K3 visa, as we were already married in the Phils. It seems that my bank, life insurance and every place I do business needs a social security number from her.

another one to check out is LBC Travel. Since they are a Philippine Corp. I was able to pay the travel tax. LBC books flight on PAL so if you mention she's a K-1 visa holder, can get the first time Immigrant discount.

But for us still without our sweeties, here's a valentine's poem for all of us... (ladies, please translate for your sweeties. Warning: if you are conservative, please do not read as this might cause offense but this is so funny, I just have to share).

THOUGHTS ON VALENTINE'S DAY

Buti pa ang Kalendaryo, may date

Buti pa ang Hersheys, may kisses

Buti pa ang Probability, may chance

YUNG IBANG TAO, WALA.

Buti pa ang telepono, hini-hello

Buti pa ang film, nadi-develop

Buti pa ang typewriter, nata-type-pan

YUNG IBANG TAO, HINDI.

Buti pa ang exams, sinasagot

Buti pa ang problema, iniisip

Buti pa ang assignment, inu-uwi

YUNG IBANG TAO, HINDI.

Buti pa ang panyo, iniiyakan

Buti pa ang baso, dinadampian ng labi

Buti pa ang unan, inaakap sa gabi

YUNG IBANG TAO, HINDI.

Buti pa ang kamalian, napapansin

Buti pa ang salamin, minamasdan

Buti pa ang hininga, hinahabol

YUNG IBANG TAO, HINDI.

Buti pa ang tindera, nagpapatawad

Buti pa ang awit at tugtog, pinagsasama

Buti pa ang sugat, inaalagaan

YUNG IBANG TAO, HINDI.

Buti pa ang lungs, malapit sa puso

Buti pa ang bra, kakabit ng dibdib

Buti pa ang kotse, mahal

YUNG IBANG TAO, HINDI.

Buti pa ang sobre, nadidilaan

Buti pa ang susi, naipapasok

Buti pa ang itlog, binabati

Buti pa ang doorbell, pinipindot

Buti pa ang keyboard, nafi-finger

Buti pa ang bola, nilalaro

YUNG IBANG TAO, HINDI

:P:D(My apologies if I offended any one. Peace.)

:lol: mejo mahirap i-translate yan ah. magiging "lost in transition" ang meaning. LOL LOL LOL

I think a K-3 visa needs an EAD to apply for a SSN. your can get a ITIN by filing a W-7 with IRS. many banks wiil accept a ITIN instead of a SSN

I am just wondering if most of the men here are like 30 plus years older than their fiance? I was on another site and it was a bunch of grey haired old perverts petitioning 20 year old girls.

UUUUHHHHH.....How about....NO!!

Check the profiles.

I'm 36 and my girl is 27.

Just booked three nights at Palm Plaza for next week for my wife for her medical exam at $36 US per night (about 1725 php) thru Asia Rooms. Seems as though we got a pretty good deal. Hope she likes it.
