Did anyone ever hear of them asking for the petitioner's BC at interview time? I never heard anyone mention them asking for that. That's about the only thing we didn't bring with me to Manila is my original BC, and we have a lot of stuff here.

USC's BC is required at submission of petition to prove citizenship. Not required anymore at interview but I did bring original of my fiance's BC and certified copy of his passport. Embassy did not ask for it though.

Since you are in the Philippines and your passport is with you, that proves citizenship so you are okay even without your BC. You can breath easy now

No it not necessary to go to cfo for that. Just go to where you got the passport, with your nso marraige paper. Tell them you want a NEW passport...some offices will tell you you just need a stamp or something in the old passport, or try to convince you you dont need to change it to married name (i dont know why they do this...we pay for it). Anyway, you just get a new passport with married name. Not changing it will not present problems so long as you have your marraige papers. We had it changed so that the name would match across the board...and in my opinion...makes the marraige look more sincere.

Our Dept. of Foreign Affairs will only issue a new passport if the old one is expiring in 6 months or if the old one is lost or stolen. Having a new passport issued while an old one is still valid falls under "multiple possession", an offense that is punishable by fine and imprisonment. http://www.dfa.gov.ph/consular/faq.htm

If a married woman choses to adopt her married name, requesting an amendment to the passport is the way to go.

Glen and Rosemarie - Break a leg and bring us back an approval. By the by, it's cool to keep your information organized in folders. However, the USE staff is going to demand that you take the applications out from the folders. Don't be discourage by the rudeness of the people working there (of course, not everyone is rude, but enough of them to make you want to slap the taste out of their mouths... LOL). One of my Pinoy friends at work said they're jealous because they can't go to America with you, but he's crazy like that... LOL!

But, I'm more than certain that you will not need the petitioner's BC. Only the beneficiary's BC is collected during the pre-interview.

Yes, we pray that everyone gets a visa with no problems this week (and everyone to come). This process sometimes makes a person a little crazy, I'm having lots of difficulty sleeping and concentrating on work, etc. Good luck everybody!

I think you should apply for a job with Immigrations LOL. You are well organized. With the 5 minute interviews, I think the pre-interview and CO have set questions to ask... looks like you are good to go. We have interviews the same day. Good luck, Ken Maria

I need the expertise from you all regarding making photo copies of documents as follows...

Me and my fiancee have tons of letters, greeting cards, mail receipts (USPS, Fedex, LBC), phone bills (cellular bills including text messaging and call logs from phone card I am using)...I am talking about correspondence from both of us since 2003 up to the present. I need to know how may of these documents I need to make photo copies? My fiancee of course will bring all originals to the interview. Do we need to make copies of each piece of documents from 2003 up to the present or we only have to select a few for the Consular's copy.

I need your advise...thank you!

Thanks for thinking about us I just received a txt msg from my fiancee that she is finally over with her medical at 2:37 pm PI time. Wow she was there early this morning. This is her second day at St Lukes. For those who haven't gone to their interveiw, bring something to keep you occupied especially between exams, vaccinations and waiting for the results.
