One simple question please. Does St. Lukes "take" your passport when you complete your medical? Do they forward it to the embassy? Lilia said at the medical, they take some passports while others just get a stamp in their passport? I expect that maybe different classes of visas get different actions?

hi rob,

they will stamp her passport when she's done with the Physical Exam, then another stamp when everything's ok with the medical. and thats when they forward it to the embassy together with the medical result. what they only gave to me was the x-ray film and the vaccination worksheet/record...

(thats what ive experienced anyways)

to edit:

the female doc told me there that once your done/cleared by st luke's they will forward your passport and records to the embassy and nothing to worry about except the interview

As far as I know, the guys in our thread are still able to talk to the famous Ms. Lorraine at 011-63-2-528-6300 ext 5184

St. Lukes administers the medical exam for 3 or 4 embassies ~ the US, Australia, New Zealand or Canada. For US Embassy, St. Lukes takes the passport and sends them to the embassy. I'm thinking that the other embassies do not take the passport and just gives it back to the applicant?

Just an update on the CFO. This is actially a 3-step process, or as my fiancee says, 3 "sections". There are 2 certificates involved here, why I don't know.

Step 1 - The Seminar/Interview and (yellow) Certificate of Attendance

As some you probably know, you can take the CFO seminar at PRISM or SMEF-COW. My fiancee just completd her CFO seminar (with interview) at PRISM Monday Jan 8 and received a Certificate of Attendance, but needs to go the main CFO Offce for yet another interview and certificate. Sheesh! They have sessions at 10AM, 1:30PM amd 3:30PM. She went there at 9:45 to sign up for an afternoon session (we thought the 10AM would be full by then) but they put her right away into the 10AM session.

She could have gone over to the CFO Office when she finished Step 1 at about 2PM but by then she was starving, as she flew in from CDO on the 6:50AM flight, so she will go to the main CFO Offce on Jan 9 for step 2.

Step 2 - CFO Interview and (green) CFO Certificate (the "real" CFO Certificate)

You can get this at the main CFO office or, apparently, at the CFO extension office at SMEF-COW so if you do the seminar at SMEF-COW you can do Step 2 there too. You need the first Certificate of Attendance from the seminar, P450, and there apparently is another interview.

Step 3 - Passport/VISA Stamp

You can get this at the main CFO office or, apparently, at the CFO extension office at SMEF-COW. You need the CFO Certificate and your Passport/VISA to get the stamp (or is it a sticker?)

Does this really need to be this complicated? I think if you already have your VISA then you can go to SMEF-COW and do all 3 Steps in one day if you are in the 10AM session since they have a CFO extension office there. Otherwise, plan on this taking 2 days, with a short visit to the CFO main office to get the stamp after you get the VISA.

Be forewarned, they are shown a video about an abusive husband. I didn't get the exact details, but it sounded pretty gross. She said something like it was about about a guy who wanted to take photos of his wife nude in the snow. Sheesh!

When I went for the guidance/counceling at PRISM (paid P450), i was given the Certificate of Attendance afterwards.
Then, I was given the option to go to CFO to get my CFO certificate OR wait till I get my visa and get my CFO certificate and CFO sticker/stamp on my passport at the same day.

I opted to wait till I get my visa.

Yes, I suspected that was the case. My fiancee seems to be a little anxious so I think she wants to get the real (green) CFO Certificate right away and we can go for the sticker/stamp when she gets her VISA. I could probably talk her into waiting but I'll think I'll pass on that! :hehe:

hi PW, i tried calling this number 528-6300 ext 5184 , but was just answering machine which answered, and it says to call call center . i'm kinda worried about my visa, approved december 28, still no action from delbros site.. my fiance called call center (using PLDT phone line), and guy said same thing, still processed at the embassy, check back after 2 weeks .. sigh.. is there anyway else to get to a human being inside immigrant visa unit? will you be able to speak to miss loraine if you call from the US? (lol)

You basically have two choices - call the x5184 number many times until you get through, or use the $18 call center number and get through right away. I have done both. BTW, you get a free follow-up call on the call center number if you pay the $18 so it's really 2 calls for $18 if you need to call again.

The best time to call ext. 5184 is before 8am (Manila time). It is possible that Ms. Lorraine switches on the answering machine if she is away from her desk or busy answering another phone call. One thing I can tell you though is that she only entertains calls of US citizens (especially if calling from the US). If she does not hear the "American accent", she automatically tells you to call the call center.

Hi all, don't forget to factor in the $1,600 peso travel tax you pay at the airport if your filipino loved ones are traveling on a ticket you purchase outside the Philippines. The 750p security airport fee, and 19 security checks and xray machines on the way to your international gate. It was enough to exaust my wife last month. She had a new respect for my previous 4 trips to visit her last year ha.

Hi Rob,

They took my wife's passport and forwarded to the USE. I think that is the usual process. She will get it back in the plastic bag delbros delivers after USE processes the approved visa. Visa is a stamp that covers one entire page of the Phil Passport.
