that s a good news rob bout her health...though she will have a new appointment, ull just to wait more and be patient uve been so patient
im looking for hotels now near the embassy, my fiance booked my flights already. he is looking for a place for me too where i could stay near DFA and St. Luke...ill have my passport renewed then medical exam will follow...

Is CFO office just around the area?ill attend the seminar first before the renewal.

any suggestions for places to stay?

Hi PW, Quick update. Manila received 12/19/06.
The lady at the embassy told me again that they received it electronically 12/14/06 and that our interview would be 3 to 4 months from that date.

yes, ull receive ur packet a month before the interview. it took u so long to be approved. Did they ask you RFEs? Look forward on March or April interview. good luck!

Rob, sorry to hear about the interview. But at least you did everything in your power to try to overcome the impediments. Hang in there, this too shall come to pass, you'll see.

I found this old post of mine (almost a year ago!!!) about the medical. Guess the advice still apply today.

A friendly advice, the earlier your fiancee gets her medical, the better. There are so many "unknowns" that can delay the medical process. For example, if your fiancee catches a cold, St. Lukes will not let her undergo the medical. Someone I spoke to who had a cough when she showed up for her medical said she was asked to report to St. Lukes every single day for a week until her cough was gone.
Applicants who show up for medical during their monthly cycle are also asked to come back after their cycle has ended.

Ladies, please take note and memorize the first and last day of your monthly cycle, you will be asked for this info at least three times by the doctors and nurses at the clinic.

Updating timeline to congratulate BJZags on visa delivery (FINALLY!). Could the reason for your fiancee's AR be the 4-year old BC that she submitted to the embassy? That is the only reason I could think of. But anyway, all that is water under the bridge now. We are happy for you. When is she flying home to you?

I wish there was a way of knowing what triggered the "non-routine" routine checks. They never did say. I honestly think that their computer spits out that Jenalyn was #37 or whatever of the day, so they scrutinize that unlucky soul, kinda like every few people are randomly selected for pat-down at US airports. I'm hoping to get her on a flight Saturday, but with the communication snafu in the Phil. right now, I can't get through to call her, and her normal internet cafe had no internet. With no internet, no print ticket to get through the front-door of the airport. . . it's always something in life to keep you on your toes!

Everyone please pray for us today my fiancee will be going to the hospital in dumaguete on thursday the 28th they are going to induce labor so she can have the baby.
She is very nervous and scared because so many people are telling her it hurts so much when being induced for labor,hopefully this time tommorrow i will be able to see our newborn baby boy.

PW, you are so correct! This is very important for those who follow behind us to understand. Go to the medical early!

In our case, we would have gone early, but we had very little time to prepare for various reasons including surprise interview date, late delivery of P4 and "the girly thing".

Please go early and spend the time and money for doctors or medicines to insure you are healthy, no congestion, no cough etc. That interview date is worth more than anything else. We learned it the hard way.

Now we must basically start over with a new appointment date, then try to justify an expedited date to move it up to reasonable. Very painful after a 10 month wait.

My tip to pass on: If you have the time and the money, do what we did and have a private medical exam done a few months before the St. Luke's medical exam. That way you are sure and your SO will feel more comfortable and confident.
