First of all, Big Congratulations to everyone who's gotten their interview date! :star:

I'm a little frustrated and confused because the embassy received our NOA2 on Nov. 2nd and our case number is 793xxx, yet Jinky has called the embassy twice and I ended up paying the $18 fee for the 1-888 number after reading that many of you who got your interview date said the website was not updated to reflect the date, only to be told no interview date is available yet! I even asked the person at the embassy, I mentioned that I belong to a support group and several people with higher case numbers than ours have gotten their interview date. She told me they don't go in order by the number, but it depends on a case by case basis. Okay, if it's like that what is the criteria? I thought if all things be fair - they would at least queue is based on when they received our NOA2.

Grrrrrr....I'm frustrated and Jinky is really feeling down. I've tried to lift her spirits and said we can hope and pray to know our interview date before Christmas.

God...this process really can wear down on you. :(

I really do understand how your feeling. It's frustrating dealing with people who can be so careless with something this important and who are instructed to lie to you in order to cover it up. Case by case MY A$$!

A month ago they told Mari they assign slots based on when petitions arrive at the USE, but PW’s list tells a very simple and clear story that, aside from the errors and expedited cases, the interview slots are assigned in Case Number order. And from what I’ve observed in the last two months, the Manila USE has actually been pretty good at processing the queue of petitions in their proper order (far better than CSC was!) and so there is reason to be optimistic that they will catch their error soon and get you moving.

For what it's worth, the February interviews are now posted online and you never know when they will assign a few more so it makes sense to make a daily check of the link Manila Interview Inquiry

I recommend waiting another week to see if any more interviews are assigned and, if you are still waiting, use PW's list of petitions (that clearly shows you were skipped) to communicate with your US Representative or Senator who can check on your behalf. That is how Gary and Luzy finally got their petition moving in CSC. Good luck!!

Thank you! Jinky did call last week to ask to change the mailing address and I'm wondering if that might have delayed things a bit. It was necessary though because her home is in an underdeveloped subdivision that rarely gets mail - even the mail deliverer never knows where it is - so she gave them her dental clinic address.

I'll keep my fingers crossed that we'll know before Christmas! Cheers to everyone here! It's great to know we all are in this together! I'm hoping that Jinky will get to meet some VJ'ers at St. Luke's and when she goes to the Embassy! :star:

hey jelloshot! NBI clearances are good for a year. it's the police clearance that expires in a month so if he plans to bring one along with him (they didnt ask for boytoy's) then make sure he gets maybe a week or two prior to the interview.

as for what you make $40K is a good enough number. make sure you just have paystubs to support it and your employment letter as well as your 2005 W2 and 1040 alongside your affidavit of support. Im paranoid about these things so when i filled the one out for boytoy i included everything i had. 401k, bank account statements and a letter from the officer of my bank, even the mortgage of our home including the current assessed value of it (equity). i think i went overboard because the C/O only asked for the 2005 w2 and 1040 forms. the rest were ignored. he basically asked what i did at my work, how long i have been there and how much i made...

hope this helps.

Steven! thanks for the compliment. wait which dress were you talking about? hahaha reception or wedding dress? if you want, jinky can borrow mine. but she looks like a pretty tall woman so it may look short on her. hihihihi...

thanks sillygirl for the the comment as well :)

to all those whose interviews are coming up, good luck to you. pray hard and just try to relax. :) congrats again to all those who have recently gotten their interview dates. for those who are still waiting for the interview dates, i hope you guys get it soon. just a little bit more :) our prayers are with everyone ....

Not sure your satement that NBI expires in a month is correct. Printed on Jenalyn's NBI it says: "valid for one year from date of issue." Perhaps you know of an internal USE requirment that is different than NBI's expiration date. I know ours was dated within 3-weeks of the interview, so who knows if thats one of the documents the frigg'n bums at the embassy are "varifying" a process that seems to be taking FOREVER.

Pls change name "forgyj" to "mae_jim" a lttle more personal.

Tomorrow is our interview and i flew out last week to be with Mae during the interview and hopefully bring her to the states on the 22nd. Well the trip to the philippines had murphy law written all over it. My trip over here has been a disaster. My flight form san diego to sf was canceled due to mechanical problems. The next flight to SF, I could not make the connecting flight to hong kong. So they put me on a flight to japan, then hong kong. Well, then I missed the flight to manila so I ended up spending the night in the hong kong airport which was not fun. So finally I get to manila. But no baggage. Everything are in the suitcases for the interview plus others things i needed now. Well, I found them in SF. They never left the states. So right know I don’t know when I will get them. We leave sunday to manila for the interview. Keeping my fingers crossed. Also no clothes... Supposely my bags are in manila and we will pick them up today - hopefully. I should have crried on all the important things vice leaving everything in checked baggage. Will update the results of the interview tomorrow.

That is probably good advice for everyone if they are going to be with their fiancee for the interview. Good luck, ken & Maria

I have also seen it suggested, for anyone flying over close to interview time and carrying important documents for the interview, to additionally mail a copy of the documents to your beneficiary, just in case your unable to get there for some reason.
